Hell, I can't even get the bus up the hwy 85 hill at Deadwood, lost traction on the slop, had to back it down, SLOWLY, about an eighth mile to get it turned around and then safely parked back in town, took about a half hour to back it maybe 100 yards. Hopefully, they will have the sanding trucks out doing their thing by the time me we leave for the return to Rapid City at 3:00.

That semi you can see behind me in my mirror was also stuck on the slush, and had to back down. Happily, two guys shoveling a business driveway down there stopped traffic and 'spotted' for both of us as we backed around the curve at the 'T' intersection just out of view.

Sometimes, you actually have to earn your money doing this job.

Wow, backing down in that stuff is quite the art. Only a motorcyclist and/or truck driver can pull off those maneuvers. Or at least theonly ones that I would trust.

It took a modicum of cajones to drive a 45 foot Vanhool motorcoach in that crap too.....but! as a 'Highly-trained, mass-transportation, specialist' we take such seemingly adverse challenges in stride, and always remember to have a pair or two of clean underwear stashed in the overhead storage compartments.

Contrary to the Global Warming crowd it is because the Sun is in a Grand Solar Minimum. Not your ordinary 11 year minimum cycle. It is going to be like this for a very long time. NASA says it hasn't been this low of a cycle in 200 years. Astrophysicists say it hasn't been this low in 400 years.

I was a little chilly riding my motorcycle today. It was only 12 degrees (that’s C before you think I’m too crazy), but at least the sun was out. A bit.

It's going to be above 60 on Friday, and in contrast to my Deadwood photos today, there's almost zero snow on the ground thirty five miles southeast of Deadwood, where I live....so...the bikes will be on the road two days from now.

About 80 degrees here today out on the golf course. Best time of the year to play golf here in the valley. I've spent a many a night on the grapevine when they would shut it down. I used to step over to the side of the road, find me a broken brush branch, stick it in the ground near my front bumper, then I'd get back in the cab for about fifteen minutes. If the truck hadn't move closer or away from the branch by the bumper, I'd crawl in the sleeper. A cop would usually come by and rap on the door when it was time to move.

Does it come in Arctic White?
    O.K. Mr science
how about explaining that tasty tid-bit in a language a ceramic major can understand. I'm not arguing about any thing , by the time that train pulls in... global warming, the fifth Ice age ,hell freezing over et al I'll be down for the dirt nap. and rejoining the carbon cycle in a clearly recognizable way.

If you use the word “crowd” , as in “you know, that crowd...” then I think it’s pretty safe to say what crowd you’re in...o_O
