So today after getting a long overdue replacement cell phone I stopped by GC and played a new Gibson, yes Gibson Sunburst Les Paul Jr.

You know it was pretty darn nice.

I played it through an AC 15 and that one P90 had a bunch of great sounds AND it was light weight.

I then played a new Fender Vintera Sea-foam Tele.

It sounded great but it weighed a ton.

The color in person was really spectacular, however.

Of the two guitars the Les Paul Jr was the winner tonight.

    There, I said it.

I have 3 telecasters. The newest is the dragon tele, I have the mirror tele, and a American original 60’s. I have 5 Gibson’s. A 2018 Les Paul standard, a 2012 61 reissue sg, a 2016 Firebird V, 2006 68 SG Jr reissue and a 2019 Es339. They all inspire me in different ways. They are all tools and you have to have the right tool for the job.

My primary gigging guitar Is a Lester, one I’ve had for nearly 30 years - but - I play a Tele and an explorer too - and the Tele is my jam night guitar. It sure covers a lot of territory...Pink Floyd, rascal flatts, jerry reed, dire straits and Judas Priest tonight. I like em all :)

I played an old 56 les paul jr. once. Great guitars and are quite easy to make sound good. I can tell why leslie west liked them so much.

SG Jr’s don’t get as much attention but they sure are punchy and sparky. Comfy too.

Obviously the new cell phone makes you stop and look at guitars. It's happened to me before, just like eating lunch does.

Uh, OK, umm, are we supposed to report your post?

The Jr. would be my choice if I were looking at an LP type.

Les Paul Jr's are definitely my SECOND favorite guitar. My 1960 double cut Jr. is the standard to which I compare ALL P-90's.....Since it is no longer really "gig-worthy", in addition to my Telecaster, I often take my PRS SE One ( with added Hot Rails-style neck p/up) as a spare/backup. While I really don't have GAS anymore, I sometimes think about building a Tele-style guitar with a P-90.

Always had ti hide behind a guitar when I sang. Mate of mine lent me his 61 SG Les Paul jr. Best guitar I have played, they do so mich with such simplicity, one P-90, a volume and tone control , so many sounds.

That was a wise choice in purchasing a LP Jr.

I have a 1964 melody maker-d (dual pickup) the bridge position always surprises me how tele-ish it sounds. Fun guitar.
