Now you guys have got me wondering how late the pharmacy is open tonight.
Yep. Flu. Shingles pneumonia tetanus
Got mine. The wife is with Emory Univ. Anesthesia assistant program and its a Bible thumpin’ must for them. She had a student get covid-19. Bad stuff, 30 years old, totally healthy. Coded twice while on a vent for 2 weeks, threw a clot and had a mild stroke too. Bad stuff, so hopefully it will add a modicum of defense. Get one now!!
Wife and I got ours week before last. We'll get Shingles shot next week.
My wife and I got the “senior” hi-dose flu shots about 3 weeks ago.
We got the shots a little earlier this year when we heard you can get both the flu, and the thing we can’t talk about - at the same time.
I have friends that say I never get a flu shot because I never get the flu. I tell them if you ever get the flu you will get the shot every year after that.
If you have a Publix grocery store near you they give you a $10. gift card when you get the shot and your insurance covers the cost of the shot.
I never take a flu shot now. The last one I took was 15 years ago and came down with the flu a few days after taking the shot and haven't had the flu since then
It will be interesting to see if there is a drop in the number of common flu cases this year with all of the added precautions we are taking these days.
Be smart. Wear the mask, wash the hands, get the flu shot every year. If you're a senior make sure you let the personnel giving you the vaccine know that. The 'senior shot' is stronger & more bang for the buck. Most people with insurance get a free shot.
“Senior” immunization two days ago... never offered the option before... Very slightly sore and stiff for a day, no biggie...
Me too, last week.
The flu kicked my arse about 3 years ago, and I haven’t had a repeat since I started getting the shot every fall.
Got mine this past Saturday. As usual, no reactions, no pain.
flu shot, check
pneumonia shot, check
shingles shot, check
Im due a tetanus shot and thats the one that really bugs you for a week or 2 of mildy irritatiing pain and soreness. I fear it most.
otherwise I'm up to date on my vaccinations.
if I were a dog, Dr would gimme a biscuit rub my belly and tell me gooood boyyyyyyyy
I got my first flu shot last Monday afternoon. I woke up 1:30 a.m. last Tuesday with severe chills and a low grade fever. I then spent the rest of the night awake and miserable and called out sick come morning. It took until this lady weekend for me to feel back to normal.
Australia. It's their spring now, eh? They are coming off a record low flu season: https://www.cnn.com/2020/09/07/health/covid-flu-season-fall/index.html
In August 2019, there were 61,000 laboratory confirmed cases of influenza in Australia.
In August 2020, there were 107.
"This is virtually a non-season," said Ian Barr, a professor of microbiology and immunology at the University of Melbourne. "We've never seen numbers like this before."
we got ours two weeks ago. Easy, quick and free.
I'll probably skip it again.....
Never get the flu.... Always get a weird cold but haven't skipped a beat since 30+ years ago one had me down for a few days.
Next month in our workplace. Have been taking it like last 6 years.
I got a flu shot in one arm, and a Shngrix, and pneomonia shot in the other all at the same time. Gotta go back and get the second Shingrix in November. I got the shots on Thursday, played twenty seven holes of golf on Sunday.
