The Epiphone forum awhile back had a thread with some kind of technical question (can't recall what it was). It had some good responses, but of course there were some wise guys in the thread as well, and it got stupid. The thread got deleted.

I posted asking why the mods didn't just lock it instead of deleting it, because there was some good, substantive info in there before it went sideways. Next thing I know, I'm informed that I was banned for 24 hours. Haven't been back since.

I posted a picture of the album cover of "Houses of the Holy" on Facebook once and the FBPD nailed me. It's pornographic, apparently.

I got suspended right here on this forum - after about 25 years - because I posted what I considered were carefully-chosen non-political words of encouragement for a certain group of people on the evening when their nation was withdrawing from a group called the European Union. The moderator went nuts on me for being political, but I had been very careful to NOT be political.

We have a very good forum here, and the moderators do a very good job. But if you get on the wrong side of one - or if they don't want to take the time to understand you - you can get kicked off of here too.

I got kicked off a Fender Facebook Page. They were overly Fender. If they thought you even thought non- Fender thoughts you were in trouble. Being booted was a good thing. I doubt either of us misses the other.

We had a 32' Airstream a few years ago. I loved all the glass, and the interior design, the ease of towing. Sold it after the first year for one reason: no storage. We had stuff stored in the shower stall and had to unload it every time we wanted to take a shower. That's the major downside to trailers. Very little storage. That's tough if you like extended travel and have much you need to bring with you. And with the Airstream having no slides, pretty cramped quarters. 5th wheels are the answer to that, as far as towable goes. We went with a 39' Mobile Suites - plenty of storage and a massive space.

But there is a lot to love about Airstreams, especially if you don't need to have much "stuff" with you.

Since when is it wrong to ask for freebies when negotiating a sale? Either those guys have their heads up their butts or OP is leaving out some juicy details.

    Those would-be moderators...

Actually was accused here of being one a while ago. Someone asked a technical question on BDC and I asked if he had tried asking in one of the more specialized sub-forums. And boom, within minutes, several posts asking me why I was trying to moderate. Including from a moderator .

    Good times

    I’m detecting a trend.

There was once a rule about posting about other forums. There probably still is.

At any rate, this jumped the shark when the “me too” posts appeared, especially when TDPRI’s dirty laundry started to get aired.

We used to have a 32' trailer, it wasn't an Airstream. I sold it because the campground fees were becoming unjustifiably high, and we weren't enjoying the experience anymore. Every night, every person at the campground was building fires that stunk up the place, and you couldn't keep your windows open, so you had to run the air all the time. It seemed like we were sleeping in a cheap Motel 6. I'm glad the wife and I are done with camping.
