I got an alert that said my TDPRI password is not unique and may have been compromised, and that I should change it. But it doesn't seem to be from an administrator, the sender is just a question mark. Anyone else ever get a message like that?

I got a similar alert yesterday and changed my password, which was admittedly weak. The new password works. Did I just open Pandora's Box?

I wipe my on line history about 3 times a day , ( when I go on line to research info about gear and visit a new site) yesterday when I logged back in to TDPRI I hit " login" before my passwords etc loaded up properly and got the same message .
no worries all is good

I am getting redirected from this site most days at the moment to a page telling me my internet security subscription needs renewing. It's obviously bogus.

DON'T click on anything on those pages. Just go back to TDPRI.

This site needs to up its security.

I get them now and then from other sites. Not sure I trust them at all, but if you want to change your password DO NOT use the link provided. Go to whatever site it is and do it from scratch there.
There was no link in the message, and the only sender info was a question mark in the place were there would be an avatar.

That's right! I forgot to mention that. I made the mistake of upgrading last year from free security. Now I simply get numerous requests to "fix the problem " by upgrading further.
Also, my "upgrade" is nothing but a headache.... always trying to scan and interrupting what I'm doing, when I let it, it "finds issues". When I look to resolve the issues it wants me to Upgrade again! What a bunch of BS.
I managed to not upgrade for years and then I thought, "Oh maybe it'll find something".

Thank you. I also do the ctrl, shift, delete after every search.

I’d change the password just in case. I have gotten warnings like this before, but not from here. The possibility of identity theft is scary, but sometimes I feel like if someone wants to take over my identity, I say have at it. Hope you do better than I did! Oh—and have fun paying off that University of Phoenix student loan I rang up when I figured I’d better go ahead and just better myself. Ha!! Yeah—I’m so better at having debt, and that’s about it. Plus, I’ll gladly forward any calls or correspondence from my ex straight to you. I’m sure you guys’ll get along GREAT!

I got it when I tried to login today. Requires at least 10 characters and if it's in the database of common words or compromised passwords, it won't accept the change.

What does that do?

And how did you get this alert? Via email? Or as a pop-up when visiting this page?
It's supposed to clear cookies.

It was in the alerts,{edit} the bell shaped icon you see when someone likes, or responds to a post you've made} 2 spots to the right of my user name. When I hovered over the question mark avatar, the pointer didn't change to the index figure that I see when I hover over anyone else's avatar.

I am am just barley computer functional, so I don't know all the correct terms to use, but thanks for all the replies.

My password does have 10 characters. I'm going to change it just to be safe.

You know those Medic-Alert bracelets?

You can custom order them. Here's mine.
