It was at a dinner a few weeks ago in DC. Skunk played a little guitar and I was the photographer. An award was presented to someone in the national intelligence field to which Skunk is very connected. He played the national anthem during the presentation of the colors and then the walk up music when the recipient came to the the stage.

I’ve met him at this an other events before. Pretty unassuming guy. Very nice and I believe the only man in the room with a ponytail or in the R&R HoF. The only similarity in our guitar playing is that we both use Guitar Center picks.

For hose those who are interested, it's a Strat "Powered by Roland". Plastic truss rod plug so maybe MIM. He sounded like himself. I believe he brought his own amp, too.

I was in the intel business through two careers and we crossed paths a few times. Jeff really is not a 'rock star' sort of guy with a gigantic personality. He's unaffected by his fame and is a pretty down-home character. But get him started on intel requirements or guitar or music topics and he will happily chat for hours about 'em with you.

Very cool. I never got to meet him, but I've been standing across the room from him on a few occasions.

Is the younger Jeff Baxter who works for Fender in Coronado his son?

I have a shelf full of records, which wouldn't be as good, without his playing.

Last time I saw him, he was on stage, at the old Wembley Stadium.....

I technically met him one time at a meeting in the Pentagon, but didn’t even put it together that he was the guitar playing Doobie guy until after. He pretty much just blends in with the rest of us beltway bandits in our cheap Men’s Warehouse suits.

LOL… yeah it’s basically mandatory to wear a suit to the Pentagon…BUT…you do NOT want to show up there in an actual nice stylish tailored suit. So the cheap off the rack nondescript suit is key.

He also had a pedal board and his sound was definitely Synthy.
