I’d have no issue if all teams were just called by their city name. But to me it’s not a big thing except with things like the Colts and other teams that moved and kept the same mascot name

Having driven there for gigs many times over the years, I suggest they should be called “The DC Traffic: frustrating for everybody, and it only gets worse.”

Marc Maron would sue.

And how come the Chiefs and Braves get a pass ?

The tomahawk thing in ATL ?

The pow wow drum beating thing in KC ?

Chiefs are in because of s****y NFL rules - that’s it.
When I was a kid the Braves mascot was called Chief Noc-a-homa and it was exactly what you’re thinking, total caricature. He came to my elementary school in full headdress. They did finally get rid of him.

But it’s 2022 and my kid’s high school team takes the field through an inflatable teepee so things change slowly.

Why not have both? the Team could be named the Cleveland Steamers and the VIP suites can be the Upper Deckers

Spoken like a multi-generational Pittsburgher....

Well done sir.

True praise, coming from someone living in a city that can't keep their busses from falling through the roadway.
