Harley Benton just launched a $91 guitar for metal players

    From Harley Benton's website:

A pure-bred electric guitar with a classic heritage, tuned for the darker side of rock and metal! Our TE-20HH SBK takes the iconic T-style guitar into more sinister territory: a lightweight basswood body clothed in a sleekly menacing Black Satin finish is paired with a maple neck and roseacer fretboard. Thanks to the onboard dual Roswell humbuckers, the TE-20HH SBK gives you a huge repertoire of tones, from warm, gutsy yet detailed cleans all the way to an earth-shaking roar when sent to a cranked amp or through a distortion pedal! The controls are simple: 1 Volume, 1 Tone Control and three-way switch are all you need to get the most out of this beast!

    SPECIFICATIONS
Harley Benton TE-20HH SBK Standard Series

    basswood body

I think a black pickguard would be better, but I like it a lot !!!

At that price it's worth a go. It's always nice to leave one next to the couch or in a different tuning. I wonder what the EQ on those pups sounds like. Is Roswell the Harley Benton proprietary brand?

Harley Benton makes decent guitars, if you can do some fret filing and set up work there’s no reason why that couldn’t be as good as a Squire or other entry level guitar.
    It’s definitely worth $91.00.
Plus I think they offer a full refund if you’re not satisfied.
    Good luck,

305mm is 12". Just in case you like playing a 7.5" or 9.5" radius...

I'm all for good affordable instruments. But it feels like they're starting to become disposable.

Which is an improvement on their usual 350mm (14") that they have on most of their Tele models. Tempted!

I don't *think* so. I think Roswell exists outside the Thomann/Harley Benton sphere. HB started using them instead of Wilkinson (the cheapest HB models have no-brand pickups, but the last ones I had looked remarkably similar to some Squier Affinity pups and sounded ok).

It's the $71 shipping that kept me from ordering one.

    .

They are a step up from the typical Bullet/Affinity Squier... more like the CV Squier line.
One of the review channels that have had a lot of the models stated that HBs are equivalent to guitars priced $200 more because they cut out the brand and distributor fingers in the pot.

HB's used to be $35 shipping ... but given the current state of the globe the shipping prices may have increased. Check on the Thomann site link below .. they have a warehouse located in PA. They also used to do flat shipping fees for up to three guitars. So you could get free shipping on a second or third one you like. So if you spread $71 over three guitars it gets inexpensive again.

have you even played one...no I guess, but go ahead, right it off because its HB, there are plenty of You Tubers raving about the brand......I dont own one either but come on, fair dues, dont be so elitist because it doesn't have the F logo on the headstock...I have played many Fenders, some aint that great either !
