Welcome to the dark side.....:) The '18 and '19 Gibsons are fantastic. Now you need a 335.....No, seriously...:twisted::lol:

The first time I went LP shopping I ended up with an SG. Too good a price to leave in the store. I liked it , still have it, but it still wasn't LP I wanted That situation has been rectified

Very cool. I had one just like it, same pickups etc. I had to trade it for a race horse deal on an amp. I think P90s are a drop-in replacement for the mini's - but I really liked the mini's. Killer middle position tone, both pickups are clear and clean, plenty of gain to push an amp, and both the tone and and volume pots work like knobs are supposed to - half way equals half the effect.

Good choice of Gibson. I love my old SG. It’s so much more comfortable than a Les Paul.

    That's a nice one, congrats.

I got my first SG around 6 months ago. What a perfect, flawless guitar... but it's a bit over on the far side: :D

Cool looking axe, man. Hope that it works out wonderfully in pleasing you.

And if not... there are great Fenders standing by! ;)

Firstly, congratulations, and much good luck with your new Gibby.

Secondly, I think ever Fender lover should have at least 1 non-Fender guitar, and vice~versa.

I also love the look of Gibson mini humbuckers. They just look cool.

And finally, I'm just discovering how rolling back the volume changes an instrument's tone.

Alternate playing your SG, and your other guitar daily.

Variety is the spice of life.

    Thanks for the comments everybody!

It was weird how weird I felt buying it! Part of the reason I decided to get it was to make myself expand my horizons and do something I didn't think I'd ever do. And of course, it's just gorgeous!

Believe me, I already see myself going down that slippery slope. Those 335s are SO expensive though!

Congrats, SGs are so comfortable and playable. My first gibson was an SG faded, still have it, although I’m getting ready to sell it since I have the humbucker tones covered and it has a larger 50s neck which isn’t my favorite shape.

Now you can rip “Back in Black” in style... it’s very therapeutic and just plain feels good, ya know... :D

A Gibson is enough. If you need ... Want a semi/full hollowbody, go with Gretsch.

I play mostly Neil Youngish, VU type stuff, but I have to admit one of the first things I did was play TNT on it!

Great guitar. For a few years, a 63 SG special was my main guitar. Very comfortable. A rock machine.

Congrats! You're spared the Father Ted/Dougal "Down with this sort of thing/Careful now..." vid clip since its an SG with mini humbuckers...
