Some of you may remember my dog sled build from last year for my son that lives in Alaska. Well it was so cool I had to have one so I built a smaller version just as a gear sled for our x country ski events. IMG_20191117_151340378_HDR.jpg

Beautiful work. I'm sure glad it won't work around where I live!

It looks great and I'm grateful to live in the south, but where are the beer can holders?

    That’s awesome!

Did you have to use steam to bend the wood for the (skies?) ?
    Are they bolted to steel?
And what did you use for the lashings

    This thing is cool

Looks fun, if we ever get any snow in the Rockies! Guess it depends on where you live in the Rockies, but we’re still mountain biking in shorts in Salt Lake City.

That's really cool, do you have sled dogs? My dog would be sitting on that waiting for me to push it for him!

Yes,i have a steamer.....just stove pipe T on a 5 gal can on a camp stove. The wood is backed by UHM plastic runners. Thats what the handle is also. The lashing is just nylon cordage. I taught in bush alaska for ten years and thats where i learned how to make these. We built about 5 every semester in shop class for a few years until everybody had one in the village.

Wow. Very nice indeed. Do you ever make it up to Lincoln, MT for the races?

I'll bet you have made a few pairs of snowshoes in your time.
