Here's another Texan that doesn't drink sweet tea. Warning: I feel a story coming on...

After Hurricane Celia I was working for a construction company. Not as a carpenter, but just a step-n-fetch-it, and a kid hired to do a lot of hot, sweaty grunt work/clean up after the storm. When we broke for lunch, we went to Whataburger. I was all set to get the biggest Dr. Pepper they had (back in the days before free refills), but the job foreman said, "If you're as thirsty as you say you are, you'll do better with iced tea."

I took his advice, and when I got my tea, I was all set to put sugar in it. The foreman chimed in a second time, and said "Drinking that tea unsweetened will slake your thirst better." This time I thought he was crazy, but I thought, "He's the foreman, it'd probably be good to humor him." And danged if he wasn't right! Unsweetened tea does slake your thirst better. So the last time I drank my tea sweet was 49 years ago. Now I can't stand even the hint of sugar in my tea.

Oh, and I just take coffee in my coffee. I've been drinking it black with nothing else in it since I was a Boy Scout making a pot on an open fire.

My family was in the States last week where my wife ordered a sweet tea by mistake. The options were "sweet tea" and "iced tea" so she thought "sweet tea" would be a hot tea with a bit of lemon and honey. We don't have sweet tea in Canada, so boy was she surprised. We all tried it but none of us could drink it.

My brother in law always buys a black pickup, I always bought a white one, white vehicles are on average 15 degrees cooler in summer. Women with black hair often bleach their hair blond, well anyways most of it.

Don't be silly, that's just like your opinion man. The state of California gave me a driver's license this summer that's good 'til I'm eighty one years of age. The requirements clearly stated that in order to get same you must by OF SOUND MIND, AND BODY!

Lots of people are allergic to cats. Skin cancer is a horrible thing. Just try keeping a red apple in your sock drawer for a month or two, then see how you like it.

Speaking of CA, having visited recently and had chance to compare snacks, British chocolate is definitely better than American chocolate.

No idea why you can’t get a nice jar of instant coffee over there though... I looked high and low for freeze-dried decaf...

What state were you in? Sweat tea is not the sole purview of Texas, it's a Southern thing. But it's big in Texas. Shoot! We have a town named "Sugar Land" (my daughter and her family lives there), a town actually named for the Imperial Sugar Company.

yeah, frosting, sure, but perhaps with some Fiesta Red? Or is that Dakota red? Some people say that exercise is good for you. I don't know.

Shouldn't this thread have been set up as some kind of poll? Like 73% might agree there's nothing to argue about here?

If you can't beat'em, join'em... These are the types of guitars ranked from best to worst. This isn't just my opinion, this is factual, and if you disagree, then... well... you're just wrong, huh!

    1. Awesome: Super Strats with Floyd Roses (but not Ibanez!)
    2. Very good: All other Strats
    3. Pretty Good: Teles and Gordon Smiths
    4. Kinda nice: 335s, all Gretsches, all Epiphones
    5. Overrated: PRS, Ibanez
    6. Just rubbish: Gibson Les Pauls
    7. Even worse than rubbish: All other Gibsons.

There! Hornet's nest, kicked. My work is done here!

If you think I'm going to join in a conversation that talks about frosting and women in the same breath, you got another think comin'.
