I consistently break the "rules"

As long as you stop at red lights...

Well, of course. I mean, there are rules, then there are rules...

I always love hearing about your gigs Larry. Sounds like such a blast.

Thanks, Rob. Some are funner than others, but I try to make them something me and the audience can both enjoy.

I married once ( my first wife) and recall feeling the same way.

Second time, not so much, just grew apart and I was on the road with my work.

Thankfully the third time, I won the proverbial lottery.

I "married once," too...50 years ago next month. And that "my first wife" line reminds me of a quip I stole from my Dad.

Back in the '80s, I was beginning to gray. I first grew a beard in 1980, so the gray showed up on my chin. My parents had moved away from Corpus but came back for a visit. At one point, Dad and some of his friends were visiting, and one of them asked Dad, "Is that gray hair I see in your son's beard?"

Without missing a beat, Dad shot back, "Oh, I'm too young to have a son that age. That's Veda's (his wife, my Mom) boy by her first husband." (Him, of course, her first, and only, husband.)

The best way to connect with an audience is to not use a music stand. Just look them in the eye. Works every time.
Using an iPad or whatever is not an either...or option. I use an iPad and have plenty of audience interaction.... Having one doesn't mean you only look at it all night long.... Of rather hear the right words with the occasional glance at a pad than muffed lyrics... Just 2c... Yeah I did a bit of entertainment between songs it goes over real well.

Many studies I’ve seen have married males living about 10 years longer than single males.

But it sounds like you already know that.

Good then I won't live as long as my dad who died at 94 (married). Too long. 84 sounds perfect.
