if you like mystery thrillers, i highly recommend "I Care A Lot" on netflix.

the basic story is that a predator is running a legal scam whereby she assumes guardianship over elderly people, then plunders their estates. Then, she makes a mistake. i promise you two things: the beginning of the movie will make you so mad you might think "i don't even want to watch this" and i promise if you watch on past the beginning, you'll be glad you did. don't think that you know what's going to happen next, this movie is as twisty as a cork screw.

i watch movies all the time, this is the best movie i've seen in months.

if you are someone with a loved one in memory care, you probably ought to see this. what makes this movie notable beyond just the well-written plot is it's portrayal of the legal system and how a smart scumbag could game it to their enrichment.

i have very good taste in movies. really, i do. this one is one you want to see.

The actor featured in the last scene also stars in another film worth watching, BLUE RUIN.

Watched it last Saturday. Very good movie. My girlfriend hated the main character and was hoping something bad would happen to her.

I haven't seen it yet but Rosamund Pike can be my girlfriend any time she decides she needs the company of a middle-aged fat guy with lousy prospects.

All she needs to do is pick up the phone.

    Just pick up the phone.

    . . .

    Is it that hard, Ros?

I watched it last week...hated the character and the whole theme of the movie (in the beginning since I'm an old guy :p), but by the time it was over, admitted to myself it was a good one....

i keep wondering if the dark haired girl, Rosamund Pike's girlfriend, is the girl in the rolling stone's "Criss Cross" video.

Offer to paint her portrait. Worked for 10000 artists before you.....

(or write her a song called 'Rosamund')

    :D

I spent many years, dealing with unscrupulous folks, who had legal powers over the affairs of vulnerable people- mainly elderly or disabled relatives.

The unpleasant stories I could tell; truth is just as bad as fiction....

The female lead in this movie was a Bond Girl.

The movie was pretty good. I can't say "great", but it was good. Kept waiting for the justice!

I thought it was good, but a tad overrated. It's definitely not a movie with any likable characters, and while that doesn't bother me, I could see it being off putting for some viewers. I had some issues with the writing, there were a few too many suspensions of disbelief required by the end of the movie for my taste, but the performances by Rosamund Pike and Peter Dinklage elevated the material.

Watched it last Thursday. Really liked it, but I was—I'll admit it—completely "triggered" by the particular kind of abuse going on. Pike is a hell of an actor.

I love it when people give out movie recommendations. TDPRI recommendations are pretty accurate.

EDIT: Watching it now, it's pretty good.
