My Tacoma is sitting in the garage. But that EMG 81 that I uninstalled about 3 years ago... I'm ready to put in back in a guitar, and I cannot find it anywhere.

In anticipation of this new setup on an old guitar, I ordered a new pickguard, a new switch, a new output jack, and a couple other things. While I was waiting on the parts to come in, I went looking for this EMG 81. As my grandmother would have said, I HAVE TORN THIS HOUSE APART UP ONE SIDE AND DOWN THE OTHER.

All of the parts came in. Still no EMG 81.

I've got the pickguard assembled, with the 89 in the neck spot... an SA in the middle, a Schaller 5-way switch, and Bourns pots. I even got a Pure Tone output jack.

But... I can't do anything until I find that pickup. I was looking forward to shredding a bit.

    Where else should I look?

Quit looking, it won't turn up.

Go and buy a new pickup, but make sure to keep the receipt. Within three days of the new pick up arriving and being installed you will find the old pickup. It always happens that way to me.

If you find my bridge tele pickup when you find yours, let me know. A friend gave me a SD bridge PU about 8 years ago and for the life of me, I have no idea where I put it.

    Did you check your desk?

I always find socks wedged in the edge of the dryer. Have you looked there?

It's likely hanging out with my Boss Octave pedal.

Did you ever find your pocketknife?
If you did, keep looking for your pickup.
If you didn’t, order a new pickup.

That is sage advise. Unfortunately, the old pickup won’t turn up until I have just crossed the point of no return with the new pickup.

Have you checked that chair? You know, the one that tried to steal your ‘71 peso pick?

I don’t think that was me who lost a pocket knife. I carry a pig sticker.

Is a family member using it as a refrigerator magnet? I never look at those things when I pass by.... You could put an alligator on my fridge and I probably wouldn't notice.

As soon as you order a new one, it’ll show up.

    Doh!
    Sorry, was it a pick?
    A coin/metal pick?
    Or I’m hallucinating.
Maybe I’m the one who’s losing something.;)

Theoretically it should be in this drawer. But I have looked in this drawer about a dozen times.

Maybe it will be in there tomorrow?

I've got your pickup. If you ever want to see it again... you'll start a NGD stickie.

Whenever I look for stuff like that, it's in the most obvious place but I miss it the second time and even the third time because I don't check carefully enough.
