To be honest, I never really liked Telecasters. I joined this forum for questions about my Squier Mustang HH build. Over the past two weeks, I've bought and returned a Fender Classic Series 60's Strat, Fender Vintera 60's Strat, and a PRS 24 Custom. I've had stupid little issues with each one. Mostly pertaining to my ridiculous need to be PERFECTLY in tune at all times. Also some intonation and FEEL troubles.

Today I returned the PRS and picked this thing up. WOW. Everything was damn perfect about it. It's a Fender Deluxe Nashville Telecaster in White Blonde. I'm so happy I finally found MY guitar. The noiseless pickups sound INCREDIBLE and locking tuners are included stock. What a great companion to the Mustang!

Glad you got one you like. The buy-and-return history is pretty unattractive, however, particularly because you don't seem to be returning for a replacement.

I only keep them long enough to set them up and get a feel for it which is usually overnight. They are all floor models anyways and I return them in the same condition so I see no harm in it. I can't be absolutely sure on a guitar by sitting down at guitar center for ten minutes with 5 other people playing at the same time and without a proper setup. For the money I'm spending I want to be certain that I won't get sick of it in a week or regret the purchase down the road and have to sell it for a loss.

Excellent guitar! Welcome to the obsession! That one Tele will soon turn to 5 or 6. They seem to multiply like coat hangers!

So the Deluxe had to go back because I realized the Truss rod nut was BADLY damaged when I was about to adjust it. Guess the thing wasn't as new as they said it was! Luckily they had this thing out back, brand new in the box! I do miss the 3 pickup option and the locking tuners, but this thing is amazing. I will be getting a set of Gotoh vintage locking tuners to throw on it tomorrow. So I'm still in the club!

I understand your feelings about evaluating a guitar in a music store. I can assess the weight and the neck but until I get it home i don't really know what I have.
