I'm hoping to build a JTM45 asap. I saw the StewMac offering and I'm impressed with the, product, instruction manual, and the sound in the video. I'll be watching and wishing you well.
I've been looking at the Weber kit all day today. I'd like to build the 212 combo, but, it'll have to wait. Good luck, sir!

    I can tell what's in boxes 2 and 3.

I checked the contents of the boxes without a full inventory. The square one contains the kit itself, the tall long one has the case for the amp, and the short long one contains the MojoTone assembly fixture and the two tools I ordered. I took the box with the cabinet to the garage for now. Tomorrow, if I get off work at a reasonable time, I will assemble the fixture and do a more detailed inventory of the kit.

I'm going to open a can of worms with this I am sure. Let me start by saying I know there are some that thinks this makes no difference, an others who thinks it makes a world of difference. I personally don't know. But... I think of it as a freebee as there is only a small investment in time.

Where is this going you ask. orienting the foil side of non polorized caps to the lower impedance. See the two YT vids for information.

I got started tonight, while irrigating the yard.

First I assembled the chassis work fixture.

I then unwrapped and inventoried the parts. Everything appears to be here.

It includes a full set of JJ valves/tubes.

I see your cat also checks amplifiers just like Jack. I assume his cat scan is just as thorough.

Had another long day. I did take the first steps though. I acquired a smaller container than the shipping box that holds all the parts and disposed of the obnoxiously large box. I then attached the chassis to the work fixture with a couple of wood screws. I should be able to actually start the assembly process tomorrow night.

hi Ironwolf, looks great! Am curious to know what they include for PT, OT, and choke. Would you mind please posting a data plate picture and the specs for them? Look forward to following your build!

Be careful or that fun first project will become an addiction.....then you’ll be tempted to think you can make a lot of $ selling amps

    Actually got started.

Laid out the tools I would be using.

As recommended by a builders review, I first installed the turret board stand offs.

I then mounted the power transformer and the grounding strips.

Not that much done this evening, due to having to deal with a sick cat, but I did get to try out the new soldering station and get started on the assembly. Should get quite a bit more done tomorrow.

I checked the transformers and choke for data plates, but all they have is parts numbers. You may be able to find the info on the StewMac web site.

I got more done today. I started with assembling the input jacks. Another builder had added to his notes to do this before installing the faceplate, in order to avoid damaging it with the soldering iron.

After readying the input jacks, I installed the front and back panels.

I then installed the output transformer, choke and the rest of the front panel components.

Today, I added the valve sockets and did some wiring.

I then installed the jumpers and a cap on the pots. Next I wired up the power section including the rectifier socket.

Didn't get that much done this weekend. I did get the heater wiring installed along with some jumpers and a couple of resistors.

Today I completed the chassis power wiring. Tomorrow I will start working on the turret board build.
