    This is
This is exactly the 'next Tele' I've always wanted. And I think this is beautiful, even if orange-y.

( love mahogany on this one Tele variation, and on acoustics, though strangely, not on an acoustic tops)

But perhaps 'off on tint' looks aside:

But how does it sound and play?
    Do you like it?

Yes indeed. the good side is
"Mora wood species are not listed in the citeS Appendices[2] or on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.[3]"
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nato_wood

i would get used to it pretty fast, as it looks nice

Here's my Chinese one for color comparison. The nato Indonesian ones just aren't going to be this dark.

Looks ok to me and it plays and sounds well I'm sure you will get used to the colour. Your photo is quite bright so I guess it's actually slightly darker than it looks in your photo. My son's Thinline has both dark and light, best of both worlds!

The MIC one's weren't true mahogany either. I can't recall the exact name of the wood but it was at least as mahogany-adjacent as nato is.

Were the original MIC ones an African Mahogany (khaya) or Sapele Mahogany, or Utile Mahogany (Silo)?

    They certainly weren't Honduran Mahogany.

Or maybe they were Spanish Cedar or Indian Red Cedar, which are nothing like what we know as the aromatic Cedar, but actually a hardwood like Mahogany.

    It's wood colored. Keep it.

Maybe a tort guard would give it a darker vibe, but these days I don't fuss with that kind of stuff. Grip it and rip it!

Pretty guitar, although I've never liked the huge pickguards on those. Maybe like @Willie Johnson said above, a darker Tortoise guard might look a lot better.
The "orangey" color doesn't bother me. ;)

Looks really nice to me. If you like the way it plays and sounds, I think you made the right decision!

If you have your heart set on a color, that's up to you. IMO you should keep it and play it. You won't hear or feel the color.

Tons of mahogany and mahoganoidish guitars have a lighter color instead of darker. Back in the day, mahogany was sometimes bleached lighter. Since the mid-90s, Gibson has made stripped down, budget versions of the Les Paul Special and the clear finished ones were often light. Examples...

I might have missed the purchase details. Is this brand new from online dealer? If so and You don’t like the color I would return it. Treat it like you’re in the store. Would you take it to the counter and buy it? Then keep it. If you would not buy it in the store send it back.

You asked for opinions so here’s mine: it does look orange.
It wouldn’t bother me at all to have that guitar, as long as it plays and sounds right. Enjoy it!
