    How about the gap between the PT and main board? You should be able to detour the heater wiring enough to reach the pot lugs easily, looking at the stock chassis arrangement.

    You can tie it into any place along the heater chain so put it wherever you want. Twist the wires running to the pot.

    And how would you mount it? Panel (Chassis) mount (pot), terminal strip, ground lug terminal,...

    Or does 'tie' imply dangling from the heater wires?

    If it was a full size standard pot, I might stick it to the chassis with a little RTV on the back. I've done that with mini sized trimpots in bias circuits.

    Attached to a dedicated tag strip with the center lug grounded would be pretty solid, which is a good trait in mobile equipment like guitar amps.

    Third idea is the standard Fender chassis mounted like their bias pots, but you shouldn't need to access it after it's dialed in.
