Humbucker routed tele body question.

This is probably a dumb question, but gonna ask anyway. Lol I got a deal I could not pass on a USAG H/H routed body that I have not received yet. I would like to do a traditional tele though. Doe's anyone know for sure if all the routing will be covered, and if any additional routing will be required for a tele bridge pickup if I use stock pickguard and bridge setup. Seems like it would.

Obviously, the neck pickup ill be covered by the pick guard. The Humbucker route in the bridge position will not be completely covered by the bridge and will need additional routing for the Tele pickup.

Due to the angle of the SC tele bridge pickup, you’ll have to route off a bit at the top and bottom of the humbucker rout, but I’d be more concerned about the traditional bridge being wide enough to cover the the width of the humbucker rout. I’d definitely do some measuring before you pull the trigger.

Thanks, I will definitely do that for sure. The body is drilled for the bridge, and I have one, along with some pickguards and the pickup, which will make it easier to check out.

I'd tried that with a HH body once. No success with the stock bridge pickup if the rout doesn't be filled at least partially.

Well, I may be looking at puttin a humbucker in it then along with a single neck. I'm pretty flexible. Is the issue the bridge plate not being wide enough?

What ya all think of humbuckers with rings around them. No pickguard. Short bridge. Stained, clearcoated body.

There are special humbuckers to single coil adapters that may work in your situation. Here is a link to one on Amazon - not too expensive if it doesn't work out or you don't like the look:

Edit - just looked again and it may be for a Strat style single coil. Good luck!

Thanks, but I think I have talked myself into using humbuckers. That would give me a tele with singles. A tele with single style p90's, and then this one with humbuckers. Just a question now of pickguard or mounting rings only.
