I'd find out what kind of magnet you prefer (A2, A4, A5) and try a StewMac.
My all-time favorite HB is the Seymour '59.
Have used them with great satisfaction for over 30 years.
A5 mag, right in the range you're looking for.
They can also be had gently used - check Reverb.
And most come with the extra wires to split etc.

I have a set of Zhangbucker slugbucker/woodbucker and enjoy them. Heard good things about the SD Seth Lovers as well.

Many others of various expense, most of which you probably couldn’t reliably pick out in a blind comparison.

I think there is no better mass-market humbucker than the Gibson T-Top. My first guitar (MIJ LP copy) had a pair. Apparently, in the 70's-80's they weren't desirable and many got pulled, ending up in techs' spare parts drawer.

They are bright, clear and punchy with the proper amp or pedal. Not too hot at all at 7.8k output. They warm up nicely with some treble cutting.

Finding one that won't break the bank is a challenge. I see them sell for $1000+ on Reverb, which I find nutty (probably because I sold one years ago and kick myself for it). Gibson has (finally) reissued them under a T-Type moniker. I have no idea how they compare to the originals.

I DO know how the Vineham 6070 compares. Craig winds them a hair hotter, giving them a 8.8k output. I love this pickup more than the T-Top it replaced. Great for all kinds of RAWK and they clean up beautifully. Vineham is based in Botwood, Newfoundland. However, he ships worldwide and his prices can't be beat (CDN$95=USD$70).

Yesterday, I saw a strat with a humbucker in the bridge that sounded so good, not brittle just good. It was white and black. I'm sure it was after market. It would be great to buy any white and black and get that. So many options on this thread.

Agreed on T-Tops - I grew up with a 78 Les Paul with original PUs and I still think it sounds fantastic.

I need a bunch of HBs for some projects I'm working on right now, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to go the Vineham route. I like how he explains his products and the price is right.

I'm not as familiar with humbuckers as I am with single coils. I'm in search of a bridge hb pickup around 8kish with a 4 conductor wire for experimentation with coil splitting/phasing, etc. but with a vintage PAF style tone.

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. 😀
I recommend the Wilde L-90 in the 6 Henry version.
Affordable, smooth, great clarity, unmatched quality.
