    Yeah.

    So what?

Lots of gross stuff we live with. To get beef steak, sentient beings are separated from their families and get a bolt through their head.

And don’t look up bed bugs if you want to sleep at night!

I actually used propylene glycol coolant in a zero pressure system with no water in my Ducati racebike back in the day . Evans/Mecca was the source . They offer it to this day . It definitely has advantages over water and is permissible for use in road racing . I won't go into the weeds on this .

Growing up in Newfoundland, we used to get them at low tide.

Tried it once, never again.

    Actually it's bee vomit.

They eat/drink nectar, take it back the the hive, and regurgitate it. Enzymatic and evaporative processes make it honey.

Since when are cows sentient? I was unaware that they had the capacity for abstract thought and self awareness.

The latest thing in self-mummification. Never mind the traditional Zen Buddhist method.

I wouldn't know real from fake. I just know I didn't like it. And there is not much that I don't like. I'm not a picky eater.

    True statement.

But you'll lose the feeling of péter dans la soie.

Our friends in the Finely Finished forum already know this... but I didn’t:

If you get impatient with building up several thin layer of nitro lacquer, and then decide to finish it out with shellac, the finish will indeed craze. And not in an entirely uncool way either, unless you were hoping for a gloss finish.

My mother and grandmother would boil them in a pot. Malheureusement, I can't remember for how long.
Then, using a toothpick or darning needle, we would pull the cooked snail from its shell. I liked to sprinkle vinegar on them or dip them in melted butter.

I’ve made about two dozen guitars and have settled on shellac as the finish, largely because it’s non toxic, especially if you mix it with everclear

You don't wanna know what yoghurt is made from......

    images (39).jpeg

I remember a Mad comic strip from the 70s, a cool guy with mullet sideburns and biker moustache is sitting at a table while his cute blonde girlfriend is giving him a bowl of stuff.

He says 'I told you I don't like yoghurt!'

    She says 'try it'

So he takes a spoonful and looks impressed.

He says 'this is OK - what's it made from?'

    'Bacteria'

    Then he spits it out......

    Cheese, wine, cured meats.......

And red food dye, lipstick colour, was made from Cochineal - crushed red bugs.
