Maybe later, but who is he? I'm guessing he plays guitar in some band?

That's Adam Jones? I thought it was Frank Gorshin?

I havent gotten around to listening to that new one, but I dont own a Tool album that has 1 or 2 quality effort songs. If anything, I'd throw away the " hit" and call their albums remarkable. They've held up well.

To their credit, they've never saturated the market either. You get something when you get it. Big props in todays climate of instant, constant gratification.

Forgot the whole reason I replied...

A whole pallet? I'm gonna say this turns up.

I agree. More likely that a pallet is sitting on a cross dock somewhere, was accidently not loaded from origination, was delivered to the wrong place, etc. vs actually having been stolen. I work in Supply Chain for one of the largest retailers in the world. Things get lost all the time only to be found and delivered a week later.

You guys know those guitars were around 40 yrs ago right ?

I used to see them around used all the time and they were all heavy with shallow necks.

TOOL have about 3 records that I need - the rest are repeats .

Adam Jones ? Rarely takes a solo which for those of us punk-influenced folks is fine. For blooze rock hippies - not so much.

According to this news story, the guitars were stolen off a truck at a Flying J truckstop in Whiteland, IN, not at a warehouse.

I don't buy that the theft was targeted, though- who would intentionally steal something so hard to fence? How are they going to get rid of them? My guess is that somebody got (un)lucky, and that they'll be caught trying to pawn one or sell it on FB Marketplace. Or, a Columbian cartel boss is a BIG Tool fan.

Not only is the price ridiculous, (starting at $6000 for 70's Norlin re-issue), but, what is the asshat who stole these things going to do with them?

The minute this jerk tries to sell them 100 red flags are going to go up and the guy will toast.

The only thing that makes any sense here at all is that some collector paid a thief a lot of money for the guitars and they will never see the light of day. The moment they do, they're all busted.

A 70's Les Paul re-issue? Bletch! I have owned a few. Nothing special about that era.

I like the looks of them. Sorry to the naysayers.

Reiterating the truck stop story.... how the hell are you going to unlock a trailer, and grab a pallet worth of guitars (13 total?) without a lift? Ok, you might break em down 1 by 1, but that's gonna take some time. If this is In fact true I'd guess the driver has some explaining to do. Cameras are everywhere now.

    It doesnt add up.

I've personally never cared for the look of Adam's guitar(s) but they all look good on him and sound even better. Adam is a truly incredible guitarist and by all accounts the nicest guy around. Of course for all of those who have never heard of Adam or Tool you should take a look at some live stuff because they happen to have the greatest drummer walking planet earth right now.

    Norlin.

it’s like out of a comic book or a sitcom.

    Dunder Mifflin makes Guitars…

    So much bad lumber/mdf

I did play and have possession of one of those Les Paul bodies with the flying V neck and headstock dealios ? With good pickups and the rotary switch ? if you can find a light one , some of those are great/good.

    Marauder? S1 ? I forget

Trogly loves and collects Norlin era Les Pauls. How can 70’s and 80’s Les Pauls be “vintage” when the whole reason 50’s and 60’s guitars became “vintage is because the 70’s and 80’s guitars sucked so bad. I can see wanting one if it’s cheap as a project guitar but to pay big money for one is crazy. Do the reissue Norlins weigh 14lbs. Do they drill holes in them and fill them with led. Thinking out loud...sorry.

The one that Ron Wood was often photographed with then.

I was selling a bunch of guitars for an estate and that one - with the Bill Laurence pick ups maybe ? - was among them. I liked it.

Given that the ease of being to make off with something quickly is essential to robbery, if I were targeting a guitar stash I certainly wouldn't set my sights on a relatively heavy style that is a reissue of the model's heaviest time period.
