Don't know why but I can't stand this pickup configuration on a Strat. It's a visual thing. Two humbuckers, P90s, lipsticks, Coodercaster, I find them all legit but this one just calls for a pointy headstock and a Floyd Rose. To me it's just not a Strat anymore.

Bull CRAP. It's the best-looking configuration IMO, and also the most versatile tonal-wise, especially if the coil can be split on the HB.

I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Strats are that cheap that you can have two or three with different pickup configurations. Just shut your eyes and play... It's all good.

Okay, to each their own. It's a very versatile guitar, the HSS Strat. I own four, two I put together 'just how I like 'em.' With a coil split switch and a few levels of drive from clean to overdriven these guitars can cover a wide range of music with few or any other pedals. Other guitarists have told me they're impressed I can get away with one guitar for a three hour show.

There’s some nice single spaced hb pickups. I love the HSS format.
I focus a lot more how they sound and play than how they look.
The one in the op looks ok to me, If it played well and sounded right I could take it.

An HSS Strat is the last kind of guitar that I'm really aching for. I think it'd be good for my more stoner rock oriented stuff. I've never owned a guitar with a single coil in it before and think it'd be interesting to mess around with, while still having a humbucker in it.

Definitely want it in some shade of blue...

I had a Carvin Bolt with a humbucker in the bridge position.

It was great for my pedal steel imitations and tapping;
it gave it more ooomph without being overpowering.
Clarity.

Oh, and #2 position had good quack.

Collect them all, trade with your friends.
I still want a banshee extreme in that green and black quilted pattern, but fixed bridge. Love Schecter guitars.

Whoa! That one looks great! But I might be a bit biased ;) :

Yours looks great too. I think your pickguard had more "white marbling" than mine. I hand-picked mine to make sure it buttoned up the guitar right. Black tortoise for the win!!
