Tele-Meister
I used to have a Tele... early 2000s, Korean built (a/b vs. American -- which I didn't really wanna drop the coin on -- and a Mexican, I liked the Korean best for my aims). Sold it when we needed rent money. Drag.
Sold a ton of great instruments when I was between jobs. Gretsch Electromatic with the cat's eyes, '88 LP studio light, '82 Sonex (which I liked better than the Paul), most of my Harmony USA collection ('64 Silhouette, one of those Silvertones that was a black Rocket with a Bigsby and Gibson mini humbuckers, a great acoustic archtop, a 2-pup Silhouette and another Silhouette body -- and 12-string neck -- that I was gonna make a double-necker out of), a Mexican fretless Jazz Bass, Dano longhorn bass, Dano convertible, a freakin' sitar, a mid '60s Twin Twelve head with a busted vibrato (but still killer tone). Probably others that I can't remember. Out of all of 'em, I miss the Tele most.
Out of the Harmonys, I still have a black Sovereign with a bent neck (still great for slide), a '65 Stratotone Mars, and a green '72 Rebel. The git-fiddles I usually play are an Epiphone EJ-200, an Epiphone Wildkat, and my happy NGD purchase (Monday): a Squier '51 from MGR that already had a bone nut installed (still need to replace at least the neck pup, though).
I play through a Little Lanilei 3350LT and a "Wasthington" amp. Don't know WTF the Wasthington is, but there's a Mega plate on it. It's not on Mega's site, though. One 12ax7, one 6L6, probably a basic take-off of the Champ circuit. It certainly SOUNDS a lot like a BF Champ. 6 watts for $100. Can't beat that with a stick.
Got EHX Nano Stone, Memory Toy, Double Muff, and Hum Debugger (since I got too many pedals and cheap cables). Boss GE-7, DOD Compressor from the late-'70s/early-'80s that I like as well as any compression short of a rack unit, and a Little Lanilei 'verb box. Used to have a Small Clone and a crateload of Dano cheapies, but I lost those in one of the moves.
There's no style of music I don't like. Don't really think in genres too much -- there's three kinds of music, as far as I'm concerned: good, bad, and (the worst) boring.
Here's something I used to play. My college band, rocking Chicago in '97. The first band (The Pokers) is mine. I'm the incredibly drunk guy singing and playing the Harmony. Enjoy?
