I have a bit of a bias against Stern, because in the 1980s, when his show began broadcasting in the Philly area on 94.1 WYSP, it ultimately killed the Morning Zoo on 93.3 WMMR, which I used to love listening to, either getting ready for college, or driving to it. Stern just seemed so much darker and cruder than the Morning Zoo, which had loads of fun energy. But I used to sit in class with guys from the New York area who worshipped Stern.I always found that Howard Stern was really funny to listen to for about 10 minutes. Then I start to feel like I need to take a shower.
That Stern wannabe Joe Rogan ain't far behind.
Whatever Rogan's quirky and eclectic worldview, the ability to do hours-long interviews with someone is a definite skill. The interviewee's talking points will eventually be exhausted, and the real person will begin to emerge. In an era of shorter and shorter media, that's a unique niche to have cultivated.Joe Rogan could not be farther from Howard Stern. Stern was all about getting a rise out of people, Rogan has a genuine interest in learning things and has changed his thoughts on many topics as he learned more about them.
I found I got bored after 10 minutes, having left my/that mentality state in my teens. Not mocking, just D&F jokes only work until I remember I and not 15 anymore. Still like them, watch Jay and Silent Bob with my youngest boy [now man] periodically for a #ShietGiggles fest when visiting...I always found that Howard Stern was really funny to listen to for about 10 minutes. Then I start to feel like I need to take a shower.
Wait. You're telling us how much you liked one of the biggest partisan hacks in the history of television, but you want everybody else to be appropriate? Not *my* guy, but cancelations may be worthy of thoughtful review.
I sure liked Stephen Colbert.
Let's keep this thread open by speaking appropriately.

Rogan proudly waves the education flag and claims to have an open mind, but his BS filter has a huge hole in it. My gripe about Rogan is he has no qualms about bringing 'artificial intellectuals' on the show and allowing them to spew their own brands of fake science.

The History Channel did that for years. Many MSM "news" stations have done it too. Rogan didn't invent this kind of "entertainment".
He was getting $20,000,000 per year for a 5 year contract. Don't know if they will make a lower offer when his current one expires. But that's a big payday!

Sirius XM stock since its IPO in the 90s—not a great stock to say the least…as a 20-year potential Sirius subscriber, I'm demanding my money back
