So I appricate the quality isn't great, but the lead tele tone (heard clearly during the first couple of seconds) how would you describe it?

Having a bit of a debate with friends on the tone, to me there's more than normal mids in there for a tele but it almost sounds slightly hollow?

Not quite sure how it's achieved, it's not a normal tele tone... or maybe it's my ears!

A youtube vid, under the best of circs, may not be a very good reference tone, for pickup, amp and pedal options, because it's being played back on a phone, through ear-buds or maybe some crappy desk-top speakers.
That doesn't stop us from trying, though.

House mix may have been thin.
Recording mic may have been dodgy.
The guitar may not be stock.
Can't tell which stack of speakers is carrying that guitar.
    The list goes on.

That said, it looked like both the band and the audience was having a pretty good time. . .
    Peace - Deeve

I disagree. It sounds like a Tele to me.

No telling how many devices, mics, amps, recorders, etc. it went through before it got to my crappy little phone speaker.
    Sorry, I'm no help.

    I agree.
Pickups are possibly out of phase.

It sounds like they're not using 90% of the stuff they have on that stage.

That or half out of phase is one possibility I picked up on.
