How would you describe and dial in this guitar tone? (At ~4:20 in video)

Came across an amp demo video and heard this guy dial in a tone right at the 4:20 mark that is pretty much the tone I strive for (and haven't yet achieved):

I think part of my issue is that I'm not really sure how one would properly describe that tone from an EQ perspective other than saying it's a driven bluesy tone with bit of a "horn-like" quality to it. Is this accurate?

Also, how would one go about dialing in this type of tone? Obviously I could track down the amp the guy uses and a similar guitar and get that tone, but I'm wondering how I might could get there with gear I already have. For example, are there certain EQ settings that could help me get closer to that tone?

He said he cranked it on the 15 watt setting and also boosted the mids.

Any amp should be able to get a similar tone. Bump the mids and roll back the bass and highs a bit. It’s all about experimentation. Try different settings and listen critically.

Don’t be afraid to try fairly drastic settings. One of my amps sounds really cool with the mids cranked all the way up, and the bass and treble rolled completely off. I didn’t realize it until I got a little crazy experimenting with drastic setting.

Each amp’s is going to be different and even their tone stacks can vary greatly in the way that they function.

Good luck with it!

He explains in detail his gear, his settings, and you can plainly see his technic. Pretty good guitarist. Good gear.

If you want that sound from a T-Type it's actually easier than what he has to do with a Stratocaster.

I appreciate your response. Is that the monoprice 1x12 tube amp? I considered one of those for a while, but never pulled the trigger. I ended up going with a Delta King 12 instead

That amp is cranked! So crank yours up and see what ya find!

Great tone at bedroom levels is a bit of a myth IME. Choose the right room, turn the amp way way up beyond what you think you're comfortable with, take a few steps back, and let er rip!

I think you are pretty close in your description. It's a mid enhanced tone with some 'grind' to it. The video is too slow to watch it all for me as it keeps downloading. Is he using any pedals?
That tone sounds a bit like a Fuzz Tone rather than an Overdrive to me.
Maybe it's just the overdriven amp only though? Just 15 watts right? If so it's an unusual sounding 'grinding' overdrive from just plug and play. Most amps will go into nasty land or into smooth 'woman tone' more than that articulate but raspy tone.

There is a little bit of the Lace Sensor pickup sound in the tone I hear, but it's not the main ingredient I don't think.
I have a big EV15B speaker I use outdoors and it has that middy grind to it. Not to that extent though.

IT must be the Ampeg built in Distortion that does it. Good for Ampeg.

SRV Blues sound.
Try one of those GC Ltd Edition ice pick throwers.

I've pretty much only heard/read good things about it. Can you say how it compares to more expensive/name brand amps?

I was listening to my old recordings yesterday, I used to own a fender hotrod amp beautiful thing it was, to me the tube 15 has more bottom end and overall clarity which is nuts, I do find I push the treble up a lot on the tube 15 but I really do get great tones. don't take my word for it though, I watched a lot of youtube vids on the tube 15 and liked what I heard, I mostly use amp sims on laptop but it's great to have an actual amp and I didn't want to spend a fortune. with a condenser mic it also records really well. what can I say? I do actually love this amp a lot, the vox ac15 was something I considered too, I saw a comparison between the vox ac15 and the tube 15 and the vox did sound pretty sweet nut what is it? three times the price!
