A tad weird. Band off (praise the Lord!) so I took some time to finally redo a pedalboard, get some work done on a couple of original tunes, drink enough wine to maintain equilibrium without stirring up too much trouble.

Downside continues to be arthritic knees, left is to a point that if I had a good saw I'd just be rid of it. Using a cane now, so I guess I should exchange my Stetson and spectacles for a top hat and monocle, see if I can pick up some extra cash selling peanuts

Friday night went to see an Intercounty league semi-pro ball game at the world’s oldest baseball grounds with my dad and son. The home side wore some, um, colourful uniforms bearing their Cobra chickens nickname. They lost.

Saturday, guy came out and fixed the leak from the ac into my furnace. Blocked hose. The guy was in and out in two minutes, didn’t charge me. Plus he was early. Which left us time to do a little day trip to the self proclaimed prettiest town in Canada, Goderich on the shores of Lake Huron. (It isn’t). Would have been nicer if the sun had made an appearance, but we were on our way home as the skies really opened up. Bought some beer at the local microbrewery. Drank said beer. Was quite good actually.

Thought about going minigolfing but decided it was too hot. Went to the pub for some pub grub. So, pretty lazy day today.

Cheers,
Geoff

The wind was finally light so shot a couple of old .22 rimfire rifles on Friday, both shot well and the target one surprised me at 100 yards. Too hot here in MI for much outside work so just short dog walks so I don’t have to carry our old pooch back home, and a little bit of putzing in the vege garden. Enjoyed finishing Season 2 of Slow Horses with my wife plus our first viewing of “The Last Mohican”😄! Highlights were today as I decided to try giving the Tigers some luck and it must have worked, followed by a birthday party for our youngest granddaughter, a fast maturing 13 year old.

Life ain’t bad.

My daughter and her dog came over yesterday, for breakfast and we all had a nice visit. I stayed out of the way and let momma and daughter have some time together for the most part.

My daughter went to the Midstate fair in Paso Robles and saw Keith Urban Friday night. One of her friends went with her that actually lives down in Los Angeles. they got a motel because the show ended late.

At four am the lady who went to the show with her, woke my daughter and said I need to go to an emergency room! She has some kind of recurring problem that she had to get some injections for. They had to hang around the ER for a while to make sure she was okay to travel. Everything went okay, they came back to Bakersfield, and the friend left for Semi Valley and home.

Today young son and my daughter called to invite us for some Fajitas. They turned out quite nicely. I looked at a sort of sunroom my son is building at the east end of his house.

My daughter's house is closing tomorrow, so we're supposed to meet her and look at her new place! For old folks, we sure do seem to get around a lot.

I woke up Sunday morning at about 3:30 am made my Squeeker lunch for work , the requested P B & Banana sandwich , baby carrots, crackers & cheese, I had a coffee went back to bed was awake at 05:00 when she got up for work , she came in to the room with our Kitten and the dog rushed over , Gave me a huge hug , the kitten wanted to attack all moving things under the quilt, hands , feet are a good target. Harlo snuggled up beside the bed and thought the A/C was perfect so he went to sleep, she wished me happy birthday I told here I was not old today but tomorrow she my have to dust me off, she laughed then left for work. I got up about 10:00 cleaned the remnants of last night activity , got many well wished HBs by phone calls , Had a glorious Sushi dinner , ate too much and was given a ton of beautiful gifts, it's 2:20 AM I'm too full for Cake still etc . so Monday is OK for that.

I hope all had a great day ! I did

Drove up to Chicago from Indy Saturday morning to pick up my wife’s new car (2025 Mercedes Benz C300) as well as hitting our favorite Bulgarian grocery store and Bulgarian restaurant for lunch. Went for a walk early yesterday morning, then went to church and did a little shopping after that. Spent some time looking at the owners manual and checking out options in the new car as well as removing the front license plate bracket. Indiana doesn’t have front license plates.

Trip to ER with breathing problems. Weather / air quality got the best of me. Been under strict house arrest. Can't stop coughing. Even the dog is tired of listening to me cough. The drugs aren't helping. Forget Winnipeg. I'm going to the North Pole.
Please make sure you take the time to heal .
The north pole is not what its cracked up to be , I lived there for 2 years , mosquitos with pilots licences, practicing a 500 plane dog fights at every corner. if you see one its too late .You are swatting 15 at a crack, and they have 3inch wing spans. these little vampires will find you as you are the only meat for miles around. The sun never goes down 24 hours a day . but Damn the Air is clean.

Not so great to be honest, a lot of work plus some stressful family matters that came up. It can't be rainbows and sunshine all the time.

Still had time for a nice walk with the dog, and some good family time with my wife and daughter so not a total loss!

After a week that included a data base crash and a couple of super-tight shipping deadlines, I took care of some stuff around the house. Continued work in the garage to clear out and organize. We still have stuff packed in from when we moved 6 years ago, along with stuff from my dad’s estate. Need to reclaim my workbench.

Got up early on Sunday to go to the Beth Hillel summer rummage sale. Got some garden lattice for $4 a sheet and a teak garbage can for a buck.

Grilled up some thick pork chops on Friday and had the leftovers tonight. Ate outside and finishing up with some pineapple vino. Going to try to catch up on the TdF - we’re only on stage 12!

Don't feel bad about needing to organize--I have two spare bedrooms, one cluttered with music gear, and one being converted to a tool and work area. Both currently just have a wide enough area to walk in.

I vacated a storage unit when my ex and her kids moved out, and all that stuff is mostly still where it landed. I did straighten up the carport a couple years ago, but I need to do it again this fall.
