I grow my hair long for about a year and a half then cut it all off and donate it to the Cdn Cancer Society so some unsuspecting bugger can have a warm head. Im on this side of Guffer and not quite at Geezer yet and have no grey hair, so the CCS is glad to get the hair. last time around I grew really long hair and as ajoke I grew my moustache as long as my hair, I looked like a biker, I had 125 staff I looked after and no one argued with me, ever. then I cut off my hair and now even my kid gives me guff (sometimes).

Up until the point you can no longer punch a bear in the nose or safely buy zucchini.

Personally I think that long hair looks fine unless the person is balding. It also has to be the correct length before it gets stressed and starts to look unnatural. Luckily I wasn't bit by the balding bug. I cut my own when when it gets unruly. Just grab and chop. I haven't paid for a haircut in 30 years. Oh and for the record, at least some guys that have hair don't look down on those that don't. We are all human and respect goes deeper than head hair in my book.

Oh come on, quit giving them false hope. You know as well as me that the "hairs" laugh at the "hairless" and we don't let them in our reindeer games...:):):)

Long Hair works like this: Does the Womerns like it?

That answer is what you should go by.

As far as Pulling-off Long Hair, it is far less painful to have it Cut.

Ha, I have the ultimate "business in the front, party in the back" hair cut!

I have a long gray pony tail, probably over 2 ft long, almost reaches my waist. Normal haircut on top and sides.

I usually have it double banded with elastics. I've had it this way so long I pretty much don't care if I can pull off "the look" or not. As I move more and more into geezerdom, I care less and less about what it looks like.

    Cheers,
    Doug

That's true, but without a beard then depending on the clothes you wear you're either this guy:

    or this guy:

I have an old friend that is part American Indian, he's built like Charles Bronson when Bronson was young, and looks a little like him. He's a really nice guy, but looks like he might cut your throat for no reason at all. One day he decided to let his hair grow, only problem was, though he had hair, he wasn't balding, he just had very fine hair, kind of like when you see a momma wet her babies hair and combs it with her fingers. He went from looking like a hit man, to a well developed Pee Wee Herman with long hair. I thought about buying him a red bow tie!

I hear you about the wife's veto. Since I retired last year my wife wants me to let my hair grow. My hair is best described as greying dark blond and fairly wavy. Now it's getting longer and as the weather here is midsummer hot I would much prefer it to be short and dry in 2 minutes after I get out of the shower every morning. I also really don't want to affect the "aging rock star" look.
