I bought a lefty loaded tele body from ebay a few weeks ago. It was listed as a Mexican Standard. I've looked at all of the fender serial number charts I can find to see exactly what year it is, but the number doesn't conform to any of the patterns.

The number on the barcoded tag is M000346571
You can also see two stamps in the neck pocket. One is "OCT 10 A."
    The other is "058176"

Since it starts with an "M", I would assume it is indeed Mexican. Is this number possibly just a production tag of some sort and not the serial number of the guitar itself?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you really wanna know you could always ask him, "Cuántos años tienes?" ;)

I would guess 2010 from the stamp but IDK!

You could contact fender at consumerrelations@fender.com they are good at responding in a timely manner w/ good info.

Bodies don't get serial numbers; the sticker is a Fender product number.

My guess also is that OCT 10 implies 2010.

Isn't the date the guitar was made on the back of the headstock?

Or the front depending on year. Either way, the year is right there in the serial number.

    my M00Z00...;)

I got this black body from the US in '11... looking at my records it was sold as an '04... similar barcode to OP's...

I put a Z00 neck on it.... hence the name M00Z00.... it was my trial horse body for ages,,,until I put some stock US tele pickups in it and gave it to a mate for recording/playing....

Huh, learned something new today. I could have sworn he was in his early 60s.
