Silver stripe Bandit solo series 50 watt serial number 1A-791402.Speaker has square magnet says 12838G 67-8102 on frame. Amp has two button foot switch. Power cord is unusually long nine feet old style covering.I would like to know what kind of speaker this is and age of amp.

That speaker is an Eminence built in the second week of 1981. 67-8102....’67’ is the Eminence EIA code, ‘81’ indicates the year, and ‘02’ is the week of the year.

Can you post a picture of that amp....
Based on everything you are posting about the amp, it is identified "incorrectly" as a SilverStripe.

On Peavey Amps known as SilverStripe (aka BlackBox) the silverstripe is horizontal at the top and bottom of the speaker grill.... NOT VERTICAL which was very common on Peavey's for 20 - 30 years.

With the eminence speaker and only 50 watts.... you likely have what is known as a GUNSMOKE BANDIT made in 1980 and early 1981. Those are the very first Bandits every made and the only ones that came with an Eminence speaker. By mid '81 the Solo Series Bandit was released and came stock with a PV Scorpion Speaker.

There were many Bandits over the years.... but these are the 3 that I mention earlier in the thread.

The original... A Gunsmoke Bandit (1980/1981)... 50 watts
Identified by the font used for the Bandit logo on the front

The Solo Series Bandit (1981 - 1982) 50 watts. Followed by the Bandit 65 (65 watts) in late '82 or early '83.
Notice the difference in the "Bandit" logo.... and the identifiable look of a scorpion speaker. (of course, yours could be one of these with a replacement speaker)

    A true Silver Stripe (Black Box) Bandit circa '95 - '98 ... 80 Watts

Right there on the back panel...Solo Series. There will be a date code on that power transformer, too.

    Interesting...

With the serial number you provided, your amp is definitely a 1981 SOLO Series Bandit. Those amps normally came with a Scorpion Speaker (as shown in the picture I posted)... so that means you either have a replacement speaker from the same era... OR .... a rare (really early) run of Solo Series that still had the Eminence.
