How Often Do You Clean the Coffee Pot

How often do you clean the coffee pot? My answer is not vary often maybe every couple months. I do rinse the carafe and place where the paper drip filter goes out but actually clean every couple months maybe. this kind of goes back to perk coffee and really cleaning it made for about three or four days of awful tasting coffee. My drip maker has a clean cycle that went off after three months and I ran vinegar and water through it. After a rinse it tasted fine. How about you?

I more or less treat it like a wok, cast iron skillet or pizza oven - it needs that seasoning, man.

I have a Keurig that I have had for nine years now. I clean it when I can see a colony of snails living in the water supply on the side of it, well, not right off, 'cause I don't want to just bust up a family without at least letting them all get to know each other. I figure what the heck, their pretty clean, I change the water, okay, add water to it every day. Maybe once every year, or two, or five, I run some vinegar through it. The snails all leave, and the coffee taste funny for a while after I do that, but they say you're supposed to.

Every Christmas I get a new one and throw the old one out.

So - never clean it.

I do have a single cup pour over that doesn’t get used nearly enough…

I wash the French press every day once we're done with our coffee-drinking, and the burr grinder gets taken apart and cleaned the first day of each month.

If you put water in it and see the film has broken loose and particles are floating in the water, it is past time. Which for me is weekly.

I don't do anything special for the coffee pot. I treat it like all the other cooking pots and dishes which have food on them.
