When I was about 13, I had already started playing (self taught) guitar for about a year on a forgotten by the world as cheap as it gets guitar. I knew that there was something more and so I saved as much money as I could and one year later I got a Les Paul Studio Faded Cherry which was my pride and what I then thought to be the holiest of the grails. As I grew older , I felt less and less inspired up until the point where I played my guitar about once a month. All I listened all those years revolved around a guitar but I just couldn't get myself to grab mine and jam along.

One Saturday morning , about 2 months ago I came upon a youtube video with a Tele Build and I was feeling extra crafty. I was immediately hooked and searched for about 12 hours until I decided which parts to get. Mind you that my playing then couldn't justify expensive parts.
    So here's the list:
    Seafoam Green Basswood Body ~ 60 $
Maple Neck with Cottonwood(!) Fingerboard~ 80$ ( The neck profile was something I didn't quite understand then)
    Wilkinson Bridge vintage brass 3-saddle
    Fender Tex-Mex pickups
    Other Korean Made Hardware

As if it wasn't painful enough for you, the body didn't have string through holes and so it's a toploader. ( if it was okay for Jimmy , it's okay for me)

So the parts came and i assembled it maniacally and the job i had done was... terrible, but very good looking. So I gave it to a local luthier and ever since I got it back my inspiration came back flooding. I can't get myself putting the guitar down and I can't stop obssessing about guitars generally.

My little seafoam green tele sparked a fire in my soul .

I like it, looks and sound. Glad it pulled you in.

The fretboard is cottonwood? That’s a new one on me.

    I like the SFG/white/dark fretboard a lot.

Thanks , when I saw it , I was hesitant too, but as I didn't have much of a choice for my budget. I went for it and I couldn't be more glad. It's just a lot more playable than the les paul studio neck.
The pickguard is actually mint green

Ah yes, the classic male white/mint green color blindness raises its head.

I can totally see the “mintness “ now that you point it out. I’d have thought those colors would clash, but I like the lower-contrast combination a lot.

Welcome from Albuquerque New Mexico:D congrats on a nice build. There is a type of inspiration and satisfaction that comes from a guitar that you build yourself, that a guitar that someone else built, doesn't bring to the table. Mow that you have, rock on
