The one from the OP is a 71.
    9.5 lbs.
    Not bad.
What is this nut made of?
    It's a road warrior.
    I dig it, big-time.

I've got a Standard from the very end of the Norlin era, 1982. They'd done away with most of the Norlin trappings - no volute, no pancake body, pretty much a pre-Norlin LP. Great guitar.

Back in January I bought a '76 Electra Omega, and that one's got all the Norlin features. Only around 10 pounds! It's a real good backup for the Standard.

It's the Achilles heel of the model (well, and the need for a special lead with an impedance converter in it) - the lighter ones are 13-14lb, the heaviest I've heard of was 17lb! They are really cool, but I don't use mine much and weight is a big part of it.

That guitar doesn't look beat up. I'm a little older than the guitar and I look a lot worse.
