How many lawyer commercials do you see on your local television station.

I live about an hour north of New Orleans and an hour east of Baton Rouge.
Every time I attempt to catch the local news I am bombarded with commercials for attorneys. Our interstate billboards are also pretty much bought by attorneys as well.
Is this a Louisiana thing, or do you see this as well?

and if you don’t mind, where are you.?

Yes, lawyers all over here too. Local news ads are either for miracle drugs with dire side effects, car insurance ads and lawyer ads. This is in Knoxville, TN

    I see 3 or 4 a day, EVERY day.

The thing that gets me, though, is that these "ambulance chasers" say they'll get you the money you deserve; but they don't say that their cut is 30-40% of the awarded settlement!

Mostly in the evening, the TV is infested with ambulance-chasing, class-action lawsuit, parasitic, dirtbag, big-payoff, scum-of-the-earth 'law offices' recruiting clients for their deep-pocket attacks on....well, apparently, I guess anything they can think of.

Not many billboards though, mostly TV.

So, the short answer to your query, is yes, there seems to be a lot of lawyer advertising here too.

TV became too unhealthy to watch. I see very few commercials for anything since I stopped watching TV and use ad blocker on the internet. I make an effort to always look away from any commercials that slip through. If I want something I go looking for it and usually buy it from a source that doesn't bombard people with commercials..

The only time I'm watching local TV stations is if I'm watching football. And then the ads are insurance, beer, insurance, trucks, and insurance.

Back when I watched TV they were always on. My favs were the ones in TX. I guess TX requires legal adverts to include whether the practice was a state bar member. They were all personal injury, IIRC. Every one of the commercials either verbalized or had in text that the attorney was NOT a bar member. I gathered that to mean that the bar frowned on ambulance chasing.

Best commercial ever was from the State. Of course, Viacomm will never in a million years let you view it in youtube, or embed in site. So, here's a link.

I'm a retired lawyer (central Illinois), and I remember way back in 1978, when I started, the idea of lawyers advertising was pretty much unheard-of around here, with the exception of simply having your name in the phone book. We always thought it was cheesy and undignified. Of course, that was before Al Gore invented the internet, too. Man, things have changed!

But the ads I see most often are the ones for those fancy vacation resorts!

None, on account of we don’t ever watch TV. But, that said, the local radio is infested with them. “In a wreck? Need a check?” Disgusting. It isn’t really the fault of the lawyers, not entirely. They wouldn’t do it if we as a society weren’t so hungry for their services. For every scum-sucking opportunistic lawyer, there is a whole pile of scum-sucking opportunistic clients. Present company excluded, of course.
