How many here NOT come to the Tele via country music?

Bruce Springsteen's Esquire on the cover of Born To Run was my first "Tele" infatuation. After that it was the cover of a Stephen Bishop album. The Keith Richards, Joe Strummer, Andy Summers and Chrissie Hynde. I finally saved up enough for my first new left handed Telecaster in 1982.

Yuuuup. Took me a few years to learn that it wasn't a Les Paul on those first two albums, and when I did I immediately ran out and grabbed a Tele. Although I still think he sounds best on the LP through Hiwatts...
