I think that everyone I play with is in at least one other. One bass player that I l=play with is in 5. I'm in 4, personally but two of those have the same members and different names/playlists, for marketing purposes.

Zero. After a lifetime, it's kinda disconcerting (Ha! that's kind of a pun). Don't know if I'll adjust to it, or try to stir something up in the coming year.

Four-ish. I'm in two as a permanent member, in another that gigs very infrequently, and one as the first call fill-in for a very popular and more talented lead guitarist.

Just one the last three years and I am liking it. It’s probably the mix of personalities.

I have never done more than two at a time. Until retirement, when gigs began to total 60-70 per year, it could be a little much.

The only other time I was truly satisfied with one band was ‘92–‘06. Same deal as now, the right personalities and an adequate amount of gigs per year.

    Just one at the moment.
I have a cousin in law who is in 5 (drummer). His son is in 3 (multi instrumentalist) that I know of but I'm pretty sure he's in a few others (I'm just saying that because he's in his 20's)

For a brief time I was in 5 groups 2 as bass 3 as 2nd guitar, that period is probably why my hands ache at the end of the day and through most of the winter, they miss playing so much ;)

One. Just quit a jazz nonet that I've been with for about 14 years mainly 'cause I need to cut back on hauling my bari sax around. Stopped taking trio/quartet gigs a year ago. The only band I am now in is my jazz quintet and really enjoying having just the one on the go.

I do solo shows, duo shows with various partners, I play in one band that gigs most weekends, one band that does a house/residency thing once a month, and one that plays once a year. I also do a lot of sub and freelance gigs with other people’s bands.

I play with an original band that I don't really consider myself a member of. Other than that I generally play with people who want to hire me.

I would rather put a bullet in my head than play on the $100 cover band Mustang Sally circuit.

One band and one acoustic duo. The duo actually works more than the band, but the band is more fun!

And, yes, I'll play Mustang Sally in either situation, if the gig calls for it!

I'm the 2nd understudy bass player in the Jimmy Craz band, does that count?

Just one, and we gig so seldom I don't notice it. I'd really like to be busier.

    Three.

One original punk/indie band that plays out regularly.

One mostly original Americana band that does maybe 5-10 a year.

One very specialized cover band (80s new wave) that only plays 3-4x a year.
