I've never owned a lot of amps all at one time but I've had some beauties. Everything from a vintage '65 Showman, to a 4-10 Fender Hot Rod DeVille, to a Fender Deluxe Reverb reissue, to a Fender Princeton Reverb reissue as well as a few modeling amps along the way.

I'm all about lightweight portable amps these days. I'm down to three at present. The heavy tube amps have been moved on. My current main amp is a Quilter MicroPro Mach II head paired with a 15" Jensen neo speaker cab. I also have a ZT Lunchbox that can stand on it's own or more commonly, it gets used as a small monitor out front. Whenever possible, I just go direct to a PA. For quieter practice at home I use a Yamaha THR 10 C.

    13 amps.

In order of acquisition over the years:

1980's Fender Sidekick 15 Chorus - Small 15 watt, 1x8 practice amp. Made in Japan, probably around 1985. Bought it used in Germany, and she still plays like a champ. I leave it in the music room, linked to the small Marshall amp listed below, via the stereo outputs of an old Digitech multi-effects processor pedal.

1980's Marshall Lead 12, Model 5005 - 12 watt, 1x10 practice amp. Loud, clear, and absolutely lovely. I replaced the old Celestion for a new greenback just a few years ago, and this thing sounds like brand new. I also bought this in Germany, probably around 1991. It's set up for Germany's 220v power supply, so I keep a small transformer in the bottom of the case, and it really doesn't cause any noise, surprisingly enough.

2008 Crate Telluride acoustic amp - 125 watt, 2x8, a fantastic and versatile amp. Features reverb and chorus effects, tunable at that, and a microphone input for small, one-man gigs. I saw it in the local shop years ago and had to have it. She's been onstage many, many times.

    2008 Crate BT25 bass amp.
25 watt, 1x10, a real workhorse. Great for small gigs, but mic's up nicely for bigger venues whenever the bass player forgets to bring his big rig. Bought it new off the floor and have loved it ever since.

1992 Tubeworks TD-752 Tube Driver - 100 watt, 1x12 combo amp, great, loud, clear, and with awesome crunch and sustain. Really funky old spring reverb, very splashy and surf-like. I bought it from on old high school friend when her husband was looking to divest a lot of old gear due to health issues. They shipped it from the Gulf Coast of Florida, and the old beastie travelled well.

2012 Fender Rumble 15 bass amp - Smallish 15 watt, 1x8 rig. I keep this one at our girl singer's loft, for when we practice over there.

2013 Peavey Vypyr VIP 2 modeling amp - 40 watt, 1x12. So lightweight and versatile, it's scary. Will function as an electric guitar amp, acoustic amp, or bass amp. Tons of effects and amp models, and really user-friendly. I bought it on a whim, and have been really happy with that decision ever since.

2015 Simmons DA-50 drum amp - Bought this lovely beast after the Roland amp that came with my digital drum kit died during a lightning storm. Fantastic response and punch. Really, really impressed with it. I gave my original one to Joe our drummer, replaced it with an identical one, and use it as my keyboard amp these days.

2017 Vox AC-15VR- Always wanted a 15-watt Vox, and needed to fill a void in my life while my big, heavy Fender twin was out for repair. Awesome amplifier, and louder than you might expect. She offers me pure, crystal clear 1x12 Celestion speaker magic.

2018 Ddrums DAD50 – Nearly identical design to the Simmons rig listed above, but louder and with more punch. She’s my main percussion amp now.

1998 Marshall Valvestate VS265 – 130 watt (each speaker drives 65 watts) 2x12 guitar amp with a tube preamp and a solid state power amp. Bought it used in 2018 from a pair of addicts living off of Douglas Road in Huntsville. I paid their asking price of $300, and it’s worth every bit of that. Three-button foot switch, which allows you to select the Clean channel or either of two Overdrive channels. The footswitch also triggers the Chorus, though the bottom-mounted spring reverb is controlled from the amp face. This thing is a BEAST, and it really kicks ass.

2018 hand-built amp, made by Danny Matthews - Wooden case and frame, and the insides are a circuit-to-solder clone of the classic Marshall 15 fifteen-watt tube amp. A lovely and tone-full machine.

1995 Princeton 112 Plus – Solid State, 65W amp with a 1x12” JBL speaker. Loud. Bought it from a Madison pawn shop, on 26 December 2019, for $99 out the door. Great clean tones. Dirty tones are pretty much vintage classic rock.

    :)

Just two, an old SF Twin Reverb and a ‘57 Champ. A friend is tempting me with a Jugg Box JB-1, which seems in really nice condition, and has its original Altec speaker, but I cannot as easily hide an amp from my wife. To her, my guitars look more or less alike, and if I get w new one (or five), she wouldn’t notice, but a new amp is kind of hard to conceal.

fiddle player who used to play in our house band played through a pod. He made some interesting noise through that pod, but I can’t say I miss him. Probably need someone with a different experience make that call...

...and compared to your other amps?

I'd seriously have to go count. The problem is that I never get the same number twice. Guitars are worse.

Since most of them are in storage, I'm largely working from memory here, but here goes:

    '78 Marshall JMP 50w head
    Red Knob Fender Super 60
    Line 6 Flextone XL combo
    Crate Palomino V32 30w head
Guitar Research T64 RS amp and 4x8" slant cabinet
Peavey Wiggy 100w amp and 2x12" cabinet
    Atomic Reactor 50w combo
    Fender Mustang III 100w combo
Two Rock Studio Pro 35w head
    Crate Power Block head
Smith Audio Prototype Guitar Cabinet (1x12")
    Univox 2x12" cabinet

For gigging, I've been using mostly the Two Rock and Smith cabinet, or the Power Block head with the Smith for gigs where I need more power. For grab and go gigs or jams, I usually take the Mustang.
