If it's just you and your significant other, how long does a pie last?

Do you eat small pieces and make it last? Or do you eat a sixth or even a quarter of the pie each, and finish it up on consecutive nights? Do you snack on the pie between meals, and hope your wife doesn't notice?

I'm sorry but I will eat two entire pies in one day, if we have them.

You wanna eat it before it goes dry... I say a sixth at a time is just fine. As Bubba pointed out, they are to eat...

Is it good pie? Good pie doesn't keep well, so it has to be eaten within a few hours of coming out of the oven. Bad pie doesn't need to be eaten as quickly.

I have to admit, it also depends on the diameter of the pie.

I'm pretty sure a 14" deep dish apple pie, one would be plenty.

I was thinking of these little 10" pumpkin pies we do sometimes. :^)

I will just keep attacking it every couple hours as long as
    1. I'm home, and
    2. There's some left.

Right now we don't have any pie but my girlfriend made a cake (from scratch whatever that means) for her mom's birthday party tomorrow night.
I got called iinto the dammed office a mear 500 mile drive (to get laid off) so I'll miss the party and the cake.
UNLESS I go eat some now ! I think she's asleep or holding a baseball bat.

Dam I wish we had some pie !

What kind of pie? If it's cherry it will never get eaten. Dutch Apple goes quick if there's ice cream around and the same with pumpkin or blueberry. But pecan...., well pecan has little chance of staying alive for 24 hours around me. I'm a pecan pie cannibal.

Parallel universes! Cherry is my favourite, especially sour cherry. (Got a tree in the back yard.) I don't eat gooey pies like pumpkin or pecan. I donate my pieces to your universe.

The bass player lady in our band made all of us a homemade chocolate pie for Christmas. This was on a Saturday night. Monday afternoon I noticed that half of it was gone. I live by myself.

I took the other half to friends from work, to save myself from it.

Mmmm... cherry pie; gone in an instant.

Mince pie; I'm the only one that eats it, but also gone in an instant.

Pecan pie; one small slice and I'm done.

    Pumpkin; normal slice, maybe 2.

Apple; depends if it's good or not. Best apple pie I've ever had is covered in butter sauce and served at The Buckhorn Exchange

Chocolate Cream pie; if it's made with pudding, it might not even make it to the table.

Anything else, I'm pretty much a one slice guy.

'Cept for chicken pot pie, I can eat two of those!

3 days max regardless of size.

Edit: just asked the wife and she reckons 4 days. But agrees that kind of pie matters. Pecan lasts longer than cherry. Cream pies are between the two somewhere.

Haha, my grandmother (God rest her soul) was a pie baking PhD who when I was young would bake a cherry pie for my Dad and a blueberry for me and to this day neither of us has changed.

Pop is nearly 90 now and lives just outside of Milwaukee. Last fall when I visited he had a refrigerator full of cherry pies, cherry turnovers, and cherry pastries that were perfectly safe even after I arrived.......and he knows that the crafty old bastard! LOLOL
