When TDP creator Noam Pikelny was in HS I played a few bluegrass shows with him. (We were in a Family Band...neither of us were a member of the family...but that’s another story).

While we were talking I mentioned that I was playing Telecaster in a another band. Here I am.

best as I can figure, that had to be in the fall of ‘97.

I joined on June 6, 2006 or 060606 or the 62nd anniversary of D-Day. Honestly I am laughing at that right now as I have not thought of the date I joined and now that I look at it, I find it funny...060606

Jakedog: do you remember posting on the old Stratocaster Appreciation Page? with the blue background? or was that another Jakedog? i think "Jakedog" is the only name i remember from that page. it was a long time ago. it's long gone now.

I honestly don’t remember. It definitely could have happened. I have periodically gotten into strats. Pretty sure I’m over it now, though. Hahaha!

it's not unusual, when an old thread gets revived, for somebody to say something about "zombie threads". the basic attitude is "they" would rather you post a new question than to revive an old thread.

but overall, CT, this is the best forum around. the old-timers are kind and considerate, the new-timers learn to be so. there are really good people here. you want to stick around! this site really is worth the 25 bucks a year. people will share plenty of good knowledge with you for free.

and if anybody is mean to you, just tell me and i will taunt them for you.

2 years here and Strat Talk.
Dropped out of FB and Twitter. Couldn’t take the hate.
Plenty of smart, funny people here.

I built a Tele in '74-75, and bought a Fender Tele in '97, but didn't get around to joining TDPRI 'till 2006. That's 14 years. I like this place.

Hard for me to believe it's been only five years! I've learned so much here, discovered so many great resources and good people, it seems longer.

And I thank TDPRI for alerting me to the fact that one or two guitars is self-imposed austerity! Since I signed on here, I went from owning two guitars to seventeen. :D:)

I'll have no clue intil I post this and look at what it says. I'm gonna guess right at ten years?

    And the answer is....

EDIT: Not bad, I only missed by six months. I wish I could recall my wedding anniversary that closely.

My stats say July 1, 2005. I’ll have to take their word for it, seems about right.

I joined in June of 2011 about six months after I retired. I have had a lot of water flow under the bridge since I came here. This has been a good place to hang out. I'm also on Facebook, but not very much. This seems kind of like home. I don't do Twitter or any of the other stuff, just here, and Facebook, mostly here.
