After a long stretch of spending waaaayyyy too much effort on Social Media on FB and IG trying to constantly stay in the "cycle" with my original music, I've come to the conclusion the end hasnt justified the means.

Also, the constant drama, political craziness etc on people's personal feeds has gotten to me for good.

I've directed everything to my modest website instead.

With that said, it has drawn me back to Tdpri. No drama...Humor...and talk aboit what I like the most..Guitars, gear, and music.

Ive noticed come January, Ill be a member for 15 years!

How bout you? How long have you been here?

Have you taken a break like me? What has brought you back?

Avast, it's been three and a half years since I signed on to serve aboard the good ship HMS TDPRI.

We've sailed a lot of nautical miles since then, and visited many ports of call.

This crew is comprised of some salty seamen, there's no denying that.
And quite a few gentlemanly Officers as well.

I've never jumped ship in all that time, not that I recall anyway.
If I did, I was no doubt at the limits of my ration of rum.
And swam back gratefully fer another tot.

In rough seas and the doldrums alike, it's been a good hitch.
Aye, I reckon I'll keep on reenlisting, and so now to berthing to hit the rack.

I have the balls to four watch, and it'll be here before you know it.

    The Queen, God bless her.

    ;)

My stats indicate I've been here since '03, but I've been here a lot longer than that.
(We had a software bug that reset everyone)

It's ten years since somebody dumped me here in a sack. I've been trying to find the way home ever since...

    Apparently since 2007!
I kind of remember the timeline/circumstances of joining:

The Danelectro Cool Cat pedals had just come out. I first read reviews about these in the British ' Guitar and Bass' magazine, specifically the Drive and Transparent OD.
Wanting to find out more, I Google Searched these new pedals, and honestly discovered and joined both TGP and TDPRI around the same time!

My mind was blown that there were entire Forums about guitar stuff, Ones just about guitars, or amps, or pedals- and these things called ' threads!'
( it was my first Forum of any kind)

Years later, I get a 'Smart Phone ' and now practically live here! ( not so much at the other site)

    seems like only yesterday.

Ok, I'm still trying to get the hang of the collective approach but have learned a lot and continue to make the effort. because, guitars and amps and all that good stuff.

Never knew I could be such a grump, though. pfuff and schmlockelity whuf.

It's a little early yet. More coffee, please.

Probably since 2005 or so. I lost my original username/account when they upgraded the software a few years back. I’ve had this one since then.

Only 8 years, but it feels like I know some of the "family" much longer. Still feeling like a noobie, but the help that I have received from here has catapulted my guitar life way beyond my dreams.

My one and only "social media" and don't even have a cell phone.

    The humor is awesome too.

I joined in 2014, but got a promotion at work that ate up my time until a few months ago.

Good bunch here - joined for the DIY amp stuff, but enjoy chewing the fat. Might even get a Tele some day.

I have been on here since long before 2000. Maybe around '95? I remember meeting up with a bunch of guys for a jam session at the Alameda Golf Course clubhouse sometime in the 90's.

Tele talk gets might boring after a year or two! But the amps... they remain fascinating. And the Bad Dog is always good for... something.

i was on here in about 2000, 2001. i went to lots of forums then, but not so much anymore.

i remember a nice blues forum i used to visit a lot back then. it wasn't as large as TDPRI, many less members. one day this one character showed up there and just destroyed the place by dominating every thread with his arrogant and obnoxious posts.

i seem to remember there were a few weird things here at tdpri at various times. i remember there was a member who had basically made a religion out of Roy Buchanan, if anybody was even slightly critical of Roy, this guy went into an emotional melt-down.

Well, as the "Joined" category of my TDPRI profile says, I've been here a dozen years as of May of this year. I joined two months before I got my first tele, although I was seriously on the hunt for one at that time.

And I've never taken a break, as the number in my profile's "Posts" category tells you. It probably also tells you that I should have chosen "Loquacious Larry" as my username. (LGOberean was one I was using in another forum at the time. Lack of imagination and laziness led to my just going with that one here.)

I have been here since about a week after Paul took over from Noam Pikelny. When was that, 1998?
