I don't see it. I mean, it's a black guy with a guitar, ok, but that's not BB.

To be fair I cann barely see today, because of allergies

I was thinking they started trying to draw Freddie King, then changed their mind.

I didn't even know Buckwheat Zydeco played guitar.

OK, that is my snarky TDPRI post for this week. And it's not even noon on Monday!

It's not a very good likeness. Probably a poor attempt at capturing BB from this period of time. In any case Happy Birthday BB...we love ya!

Couldn't figure out who they were trying to honor without scrolling over the image. Great choice, lame image.

I'm glad they are trying to honor him, but those curly shirt sleeves of 1972 and missed-the-target image ain't workin' for me. So many other choices to have made.

... and here's one from 1972; just sayin.

The link takes you to a video of The Thrill Has Gone. It's quite nicely done although the resemblances throughout are of generic black guy with guitar rather than BB.
But it's on Google worldwide as far as I can see ( I've checked com, co.uk, fr, com.np and then I couldn't think of any more) so it seems like a nice thing and if it brings a few more people to his music all well and good.

Looking at it again is it ( for the Brits this one) the opera singer off the Go Compare adverts?

Quite nice actually albeit the singer/guitar player doesn’t look remotely close to BB.

Respect to Google for honoring one of my guitar Hero’s.

I thought he was Django Reinhart... I really thought he was a white guitar player.... BB King was much blacker... does this exists in english? should I say darker?

BB was bigger than that guy when he was born.

I can’t imagine what Mr. King’s family and close friends have to say about it. Still, it’s the thought that counts most.

Have ya taken a gander at the MLK statue in Washington ?

I don’t even want to get in to all the ways that the fact that statue looking nothing like Martin Luther King Jr are offensive...:mad:

But yeah, the Google B.B. King looks like somebody , but it don’t look like BB.

By the way, Blues Is King from 1966 is always a go-to in this household. Small group, small club.

I don’t use any Google products or services so I didn’t see this. Of course, I’ve never understood why the decoration of a search engine’s website was of any importance...

Probably as to not pay the estate for his likeness.

Nice gesture on their part but the drawing they used doesn't look like BB King at all, in fact it looks more like your typical Latin singer.

It looks like he has 4 fingers on his left hand. Artistic license I guess?
