Excellent!! I would be curious to know how he pulls this off. The show in Minneapolis last night got hit with a heavy rain but Edge kept on playing through the rain drops. Several of his guitars looked like vintage era and the where getting soaked. What is done to prevent the pickups from getting wet and shorting out? Obviously he was using a wireless but I would think even that would be susceptible to moisture. I'd think you would be risking damage to the wood of the vintage guitars that had finish worn away.

Got to give it to the guy and band.
A while back read a post about how Springsteen waterproofs his guitars

His guitars have spent years in Ireland. They're saturated by the dampness by now and could probably be played underwater.

Kudos to U2!

I remember reading here about some band who abandoned an outdoor show because a flock of pigeons flew over. Sheesh. Guess they didn't want to get pigeon poop on their skinny jeans.

As long as his rack and pedal board are protected he should be fine.

His guitar tech can clean/dry/tweak the guitars as needed.

You'd be surprised how much water some of our gear can take. Submersion is bad, rain doesn't always matter so much. Most of it rolls off, and unless things are left in it heavy rain for hours, most of it rolls right off, very little gets into anything. My outdoor festival set got dumped on pretty good last night. Les Paul Jr., and pedal board pretty freakin' wet. Singer's vintage SG and pedal board, pretty freakin' wet. Me and the singer, pretty freakin' wet.

Everything is fine today, and the people who got thoroughly soaked standing in the rain to catch our set really appreciated that we didn't just pack it in. It was actually a great show, and lots of fun. We just had to dry stuff out afterward.

Guitars can stand a lot of rain, probably not good for them, but, what are you going to do, reckon how much they took in at that concert. Good of them to keep on playing.
