On your stomach, back, on the side ? For some reason, when i am on my stomach, it is hard to fall asleep.
I can't sleep lying on my back, but it makes me yawn a few times, and then back on the stomach.

Is it a breathing thing ? some kind of weird ritual ?

On my side. I snore when I’m on my back.

I can't sleep on my stomach, my neck doesn't handle twisting around sideways to breathe...

unless it's a massage table with the face hole, to lay straight necked....;)

I probably sleep on my sides the most....:)

I relax and get sleepy on my back.
I sleep on my left side.
I slept on my stomach in my 20’s but it seems I heard it was bad for your back so I quit.
    That may not be true.

I can sleep on either side or the stomach depending on what I'm feeling that day. Never on the back. I've fallen asleep on my back exactly twice in my life and they were both after very long periods of going without sleep.

I usually fall asleep on my right side, but after a couple of hours my surgically-repaired right shoulder necessitates switching to the left side.

I’m fortunate in that most nights I can fall asleep anywhere, in any position, more or less at my own choosing. However, finding whatever position is most comfortable helps. Also, melatonin supplements help my insomniac wife, so you could always try that.

It depends! But probably 90% of the time on my left side, 10% on my back. I have dislocated my right shoulder 4 to 5 times to the point I can't sleep on it.

I also have sleep apnea, so have a CPAP machine - I find my left works best for this too due to tube routing. (Can't believe I have to worry about cable routing myself - age sucks!)

Usually on my sides, rarely on my back or stomach. I once fell asleep standing up during a 1 minute elevator ride after a long night shift... My boss woke me up when the doors opened as she entered... LOL.

On my side, usually in the fetal position.

And typically interrupted every hour by either puppy/cat/my son.

Whether on my back or front I like to assume a starfish shape.

I start on my back and usually end up on either side. Never fully on my stomach. Sometimes with a pillow as a wedge forming a hybrid stomach/side thing.

Poorly. I sleep poorly and the fact that the majority of my posts are made between 0200-0500 Pacific time is all the evidence you need.

+1...I usually sleep on my back, but sometimes my right side (if I can keep my mask seal). My left shoulder does not allow sleep on that side:(. I was never much of a stomach sleeper, except times when the seas were high and I had to hold on to keep from being tossed onto the deck;).

I used to sleep on my side. Now due to back issues I can only sleep on my back. I don’t sleep particularly well either.

I sleep poorly every night, for many years now. ( overweight, achy back, achy knees.. )
I do more or less, the same thing every night ( unless I have a late night gig- but gigs are earlier, now):

I go to bed 11:45, after opening segment of Colbert's The Late Show, my wife stays up to watch entire show, then more TV
I go to sleep first on my left side till it bugs me; an hour later, roll over to my right side for an hour, till it bugs me. REPEAT, until I get up at 7, feel miserable
