Radio DJ's always called it Asia too.

Nope.

They said it the way Fagan sang it, every time I ever heard.

Let me cut through all this "stuff" and explain it simply.

Fagan says Ay-zhia. The Continent is Azia. In the crudest terms. Oversimplified. Whatever, but the distinction is there.

Back in the days of stereo stores / hifi shops there was always a half speed master copy of Aja either playing or about to be played. Also the Headhunters Herbie Hancock lp.

As ubiquitous as undersea footage of brightly colored fish at a coral reef on the big screen TV’s .

CD spot number 6 in my car player is always Jazz right now it's Herbie Hancock best of Ken Burns series chameleon is on there along with rocket and then all the early stuff like Watermelon Man and Cantaloupe Island sorry for the voice activation I'm ubering

Walter Becker says the album title closer to Asia than Ah-juh at 1:15 in the posted video clip about the album. As a teenager I hated Steely Dan and that dumb album that had Asia spelled incorrectly. I was more into The Velvet Underground and anything that seemed like punk in 79-still am and still can't stand Steely Dan's music(though I have come to like Walter Becker in interviews). About the only thing I like about Steely Dan is they ripped off William S Burroughs reference of a sexual device. Steely Dan's album title Aja is further proof of Burrough's axiom that language is a virus.
