I find em' loud, bright, hard, and harsh sounding.
I sold Carbon Acoustics for a while, they are well made, and play beautifully.
Rainsongs are nicer sounding, and looking IMO.
I went to a Christmas party/jam a few years ago.
One of my friends was shredding away on a amplified CA acoustic/electric.
The sound still haunts me, though not in a good way.
If stability/durability/playability is more important than sound,
carbon fiber is hard to beat.

I've been intrigued by these also, they seem to be acoustic guitars for the apocalypse.
I've heard people say the tone just isn't there, and I've heard others say they are the best things ever. Never played one myself but like I said, intrigued

I was impressed by how well Gary Hultan covered Rob ickes Dobro playing.

Coincidentally, I just yesterday played a Rainsong Shorty at my friendly local money pit.

    I want it.

Anybody want to buy a nice 100 year old Brazillian parlor so I can go modern?

I played one the day I bought my Martin DCPA3. I was so pumped about getting the Martin that nothing would have matched its sound in my mind that day. I don't even remember the brand name of the carbon fiber guitar, but it was black (duh...) and you could see the orientation of the fibers in the body. It played well, but I thought its tone had a lot of work to do to get into the tonal range of a really good wooden guitar. It'd be a damn good beach or boat guitar, though!!

Played with my friend the other day- who owns a new Rainsong.

He's a finger picker, it sounded fabulous.

Now... I need to convince him to take it to a real luthier to lower the saddle where he can do his delicate
thing ALL over the neck, not just 1st position!.
He took it to a local so-called 'repairman' who barely lowered it telling my friend that's where it should be... any lower and it is wrong...

I have 3 of the original carbon fiber guitars Adamas by Ovation.

I have a factory customized Adamas II 6 string model 1681

The Adamas II have suspended ring top. They sound rolling thunder deep bass and shimmering highs. The sound very full vintage guitars.

    and a Adamas W598
The Woven top sounds different more of sparkling kinda sound.

I also got to play Mellisa Ethridge's her actual Adamas Signature model.
The one she actually plays on stage.
The preamp needed to be replaced. It was shipped to Bloomfield office instead of New Hartford factory.

In all honesty I liked my W598 better.
