How do you feel about amplified busking near places you do business?

I must confess I find it increasingly annoying. However my position might not be defensible. It may be just a slight increase in my curmudgentry. I find amplified live music I have not asked for that is forced upon me in public places just almost intolerable. Especially of a genre I don't care for with an appeal for donations thrown in for good measure.

TD, if amplified music that you didn't ask for is the worse thing that's happened to you today, you're having a pretty good day.

It should be louder, and it should be bagpipes

I stated that my position might not be defensible. However, having said that, I find it increasingly clear what Mr. Scrooge meant when he said; What do I wish? I wish to be left alone. I do not intrude on those people lives, and I resent them intruding on mine without an invitation. It would help if they were actually playing something, rather than just noodling away. I can do that in the comfort of my own home. I am certainly not going to part with any money in support of it.

I didn't want to mention it, but I think it was YOU who I was complaining about! :D

Appealing for money to support you, when you have an obviously expensive rig to perform with seems as much a first world problem, as mine. My point is, just because one believes they are ready to share their music with the world does not mean they either are, or should.

In all sincerity, no one is forcing you to endure those joyful sounds of life.
You can stay within the walls of your gated community and have things delivered, should you choose to do so.

While it may appear at right angles to my post, I can still like your position in a philosophical way, while not being nearly as supportive on a personal level.

No, that is not an option. Actually I went to the store to pick up my medication. I didn't want to take the chance of ordering it, for fear the street musician might be the delivery guy! Besides, we'd never let anyone in that "looked like that."

The things I did when I was young. Like carry a harmonica and when I came across a busker I would pull out the Harmonica and play not along with the music but way out there and loud. Or start a argument with a friend right in front of the busker.

I don’t mind it if the volume isn’t excessive and I like the music. In 2016 there was a Beatles (note correct spelling) tribute band playing great Rock and Roll music in a subway I was in. Large crowd standing around watching. It was great to listen to Rock and Roll Music in that setting.

they started out with skiffle and then ruined music with all that dirty hippy drug addled horrible rock stuff

but hey, they got through to charlie manson, so they were successful, i guess
