you know I don't like to go on rants.

but a phone is really meant to make phone calls, a tablet is meant to surf the web
and a laptop is meant to do computer work.

now I can make a butterknife into a common screwdriver in a pinch, but would I really want to use it as my best tool?

I can use a phone for a doorstop, but should I? sometimes I think i should.

if the universe were to grant me a single wish, I would wish there are no cellphones and there is no technology to make them ever possible.
I take pictures of everything with my phone and my tablet. Rather than figure out how to get the pics from there to the laptop, it’s easier to just edit them there.

Plus, I use either my phone or tablet to read TDPRI anyway. I don’t use my laptop much anymore, except to use my external hard drive via USB to listen to iTunes music. And then I use iTunes remote on my tablet to control what to listen to.

life is too short to explain photo editing software to people who don't know how to email themselves a picture on their phone.and that my friends is why I doesn't do software support no more.

I haven't used "Paint" in 20 years. It is in my Windows package on my laptop. Still easy to use.

Why did you feel it necessary to "paint" out my beard? And why would you use pink?!?:mad::twisted:

For Adobe Photoshop type editing but at a cost of $0, try GIMP (Gnu Image Manipulation Program) at https://www.gimp.org/. There are versions for most popular desktop operating systems (Win, Mac, Linux, etc.) A comprehensive image editor.

As a Linux user, I know about Gimp. Very powerful, but also a steep learning curve, especially if you are not familiar / experienced with image editing.

BTW...SUCCESS! Thanks, everybody. This enables me to post a thread about my most recent acquisition with pics, since I've now successfully drawn charcoal gray lines through the serial number. Stay tuned...
