How do you do a sparkle finish like the Vegas Gold Baja?

    Hey people,

    Coming off my first really good nitro job, I'm wondering how hard it is to do a sparkle finish, one that looks like the flakes are at different depths in the paint. First one that comes to my mind is the Vegas Gold Baja that was out a few years back. They also used to make fiberglass speed boats with the same kinda finish back in the '70s.

    I think there's such a thing as a heavy flake gun. Other than that I believe @Buckocaster51 is the local authority on the subject.

    I like them, I've seen good results for low cost using Duplicolor Silver metalspecks with Duplicolor metalcast in your preferred color over the top, then clear coating.

    Basically, big flakes. Ducati Motorcycles used to have massive flake jobs in the 70s. You need a lot of clearcoats to level them out.

    The big gold flake is a bucket list tele color, that I will likely never own :(
