How can you tell if your amp is operating class A or class AB?

    I know when my current amp du jour is running in class A. I switch it on and make some noise with it. It's easy!.

    Keep asking around until you hear the answer that you want - hopefully by someone with some sort of merit - then stand behind that answer!

    (Or at least that is the way it seems to work on this subject)
